Meet Sean Armstrong of Dallas-Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Armstrong.

Hi Sean, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Through many years involved in music since the age of 5, through school bands, drumline, choir, theater and just plain social life, I have always loved being involved in music. Either as a listener, a performer, a writer or just plainly as an enjoyer of the emotions and the feeling it has the power to hold on a person, it has always been my therapy. In 2001, I became a youth minister and started officiating weddings which got me in the wedding industry. Fast forward to 2022, a good buddy in my neighborhood owns the entertainment company and was looking for a DJ assistant, so with a little experience in DJ’ing house parties I took a leap of faith and said yes. Being in the international military/commercial logistics I thought DJ’ing events and weddings on the weekend would be a nice little side gig, what I didn’t expect was to fall in love again with music and bringing people together with it but it happened and now I couldn’t imagine not being in the role of a wedding, corporate, event DJ and MC. I love all my clients and couples and fellow vendors and it is a community I never knew I needed.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I believe every obstacle we face in following a dream and a passion, is more of a learning experience and an opportunity for growth. Even after 4 years of wedding/corporate DJ’ing, I still get nervous before every event, more because this is the most important day in a couples life or in the eyes of a corporate event. It’s not about me, it’s about all of them and having a good time is most important to me. Life has definitely given me ups and downs but music has always been my therapy and place of peace. All genres for sure.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
The idea of creating an environment, an experience and a release from everyday tension and struggles is what I specialize in. Reading the room to see what gets people moving, smiling, dancing, toe tapping and loving on one another is what it’s about. Using that then to create a once in a lifetime experience outside of ourselves is what I’m known for. Spreading that moment to everyone within ear shot of releasing their stress and just enjoying this moment right now with the ones we love is what it’s all about. Create a soundtrack for you event or wedding, be it the main stage or background atmosphere, that’s what it’s all about. Working with couples well in advance to help them make their vision come to life. I’m proud of the 100% 5 star ratings from my couples and COO’s, proud of how far I’ve come from the little 5 year old that was begging my mom and dad for a drumset, to going on tour in my 20’s and now at 47 years old, still bringing happiness to others through music.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t really believe in luck, but I do believe that God has a plan and when we look to Him and put our faith in Him, and walk the path He has for us, we will be doing things we could never imagine we were capable of.
