Hi Mercedes , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my journey in the beauty industry over 10 years ago with a passion for makeup and helping women feel confident during special moments in their lives. What began as a creative passion quickly turned into a career through hard work, dedication, and building strong relationships with my clients.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work on weddings, fashion events, beauty pageants, and even participate in events like New York Fashion Week and Miss World Dominican Republic.
Today, I own Mercedes Rangel Makeup and Top Beauty Pros a mobile luxury makeup and hairstyling business based in Dallas, while also working destination weddings and events throughout Mexico.
I’m grateful that my career has allowed me to combine creativity, beauty, and entrepreneurship while doing something I truly love.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Building a business in the beauty industry takes a lot of hard work, consistency, and sacrifice. One of my biggest challenges has been managing my business between Dallas and Mexico, while also building my brand and knocking on doors in the U.S. market in such a competitive industry.
But every challenge has helped me grow stronger, both as an artist and as a businesswoman.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in bridal makeup, but my focus has grown throughout my career. Today, together with my freelance teams, we offer specialized services for brides, quinceañeras, and exclusive events in Dallas, destination weddings, and different cities throughout Mexico.
I’m known for an elegant, soft, and natural makeup style focused on enhancing each woman’s beauty without taking away from her essence. I love creating timeless looks that make my clients feel confident and beautiful on one of the most important days of their lives.
What I’m most proud of is that, through this career, I’ve also been able to help many women grow professionally and become part of a team where they can develop their talent and create opportunities within the beauty industry.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that my ability in makeup and hairstyling has turned into a true life purpose that goes beyond personal or professional success.
It’s not just about achieving goals as an individual, but about the impact you create, the people you inspire, and the opportunities you can open for others along the way.
