Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosy Gaytan.
Hi Rosy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to emotion, art, storytelling, and the way photographs can preserve a feeling long after a moment has passed. I started photography over 12 years ago while raising my four boys, initially documenting everyday life and slowly falling in love with capturing people in an honest and meaningful way.
What began as a creative outlet eventually turned into Alba Rose Photography, a Dallas based brand focused on creating imagery that is honest, visually poetic, and inspired by nostalgia. Over the years, my style naturally evolved into a blend of editorial and documentary photography inspired by film, architecture, fashion, and human connection.
I’ve always cared less about perfectly posed moments and more about creating photographs that feel alive and emotionally true. I want people to look back at their images years from now and not only remember how everything looked, but how it felt.
Building this business has been incredibly rewarding, but also deeply personal. There were seasons where I was balancing motherhood, grief, and the pressure of entrepreneurship all at once. Photography became more than a career for me. It became a way to create beauty through every stage of life and to connect with people during some of their most meaningful moments.
Today, I photograph weddings across Dallas, Fort Worth and beyond, and I feel incredibly grateful that this work has allowed me to tell stories in a way that feels artistic, personal, and lasting.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not. Building a business while raising four boys came with a lot of balancing, growth, and perseverance behind the scenes. There were seasons of burnout, grief, self doubt, and the pressure that comes with turning something deeply personal into a career.
At the same time, those challenges shaped both me and my business. They taught me to trust my artistic instincts, connect with people on a deeper level, and create work that feels honest and emotionally true. Looking back, every difficult season pushed me closer to the kind of artist and storyteller I wanted to become.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a wedding photographer and the owner of Alba Rose Photography based in Dallas Fort Worth. I specialize in weddings and intimate celebrations with a style that blends editorial and documentary photography through both film and digital mediums. My work is heavily inspired by cinema, fashion, architecture, art, and genuine human connection.
I’m especially known for my film work and the nostalgic, cinematic feeling throughout my imagery. I think what people connect with most is that my photographs feel emotional and refined without feeling overly posed. I care deeply about preserving the feeling of a moment just as much as the aesthetics of it. A lot of my clients tell me they feel comfortable and truly seen in front of my camera, and that’s something I’m incredibly proud of.
What sets me apart is probably the balance between artistry and emotion in my work. I approach weddings with an artistic eye, but also with a calm and intuitive presence. I pay attention to the in between moments, the atmosphere, the movement, and the details that often go unnoticed. My goal has never been just to document how a wedding looked, but to create photographs that feel like memories and pieces of art at the same time.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
One thing that might surprise people is that a lot of the emotion and nostalgia in my work comes from my love of cinema, art, architecture, and storytelling outside of photography. I think I approach weddings less like events and more like scenes from a story unfolding in real time.
I’m also naturally pretty introverted and observant, which I think helps me notice the quiet in between moments that often become the most meaningful photographs.
