Hi Dami, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Flaair Decor started from a passion for creating beautiful spaces and meaningful experiences for people. What began as a creative outlet gradually turned into a business as friends, family, and clients continued trusting me with their special moments and recommending my work to others.
Entrepreneurship has always been part of my journey. Before Flaair Decor, I explored and managed multiple business ventures, each teaching me valuable lessons about resilience, customer service, creativity, and growth. Those experiences helped shape the foundation of the business I run today.
My journey has not been traditional or easy. I moved to the United States with big dreams and have worked hard to build a life and career while balancing many responsibilities. Alongside running Flaair Decor, I work a full-time corporate role in analytics and Finance, completed my MBA, and navigate motherhood and family life. I’ve also had to manage personal health challenges, including living with lupus, which has taught me patience, strength, and the importance of giving yourself grace while still pursuing your goals.
Through it all, creativity has remained one of the things that brings me joy and purpose. Flaair Decor focuses on elegant event styling with a luxury feel that still feels intentional and accessible. We specialize in faux floral installations, weddings, backdrops, balloon designs, and full event décor. One thing clients often appreciate is our ability to create high-end, memorable designs while still making the process feel personal and approachable.
This season of business has been especially rewarding because we officially expanded into full wedding décor, and seeing clients trust us with such important milestones means everything to me. A lot of our growth has come through referrals, repeat clients, and social media support, which reminds me how powerful consistency and genuine relationships can be.
The journey continues to evolve, but one thing that remains constant is my desire to create experiences that make people feel celebrated, confident, and remembered. Flaair Decor is more than décor to me. It represents faith, resilience, creativity, and the beauty that can come from continuing to show up for your dreams even during challenging seasons.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, there have been moments of uncertainty, exhaustion, and learning experiences along the way.
One of my biggest challenges has been balancing multiple responsibilities at the same time. I work a full-time corporate job, run Flaair Decor, completed my MBA, and manage family life and motherhood all while trying to grow a business with consistency and excellence. There were seasons where it felt like there simply were not enough hours in the day.
Another personal challenge has been navigating life and business while living with lupus. There are days when managing my health while still showing up for clients, work, school, and family can be physically and emotionally demanding. Learning how to listen to my body while still pursuing my goals has been one of the biggest lessons in my journey.
Entrepreneurship itself also comes with challenges that people do not always see behind social media. Building a business requires sacrifice, financial investment, long nights, problem-solving, and sometimes learning through mistakes. There have been times when I doubted myself or wondered if I was doing enough, especially while trying to build a brand in a competitive industry.
One thing that also challenged me early on was learning to value my work properly. As a creative business owner, it can be difficult finding the balance between wanting to help clients and also understanding the value of your time, creativity, and effort.
Despite all of that, every challenge has helped shape me into a stronger business owner and person. I’ve learned the importance of resilience, boundaries, consistency, and faith. The difficult seasons taught me that growth is not always loud or immediate, but showing up consistently eventually creates results. Looking back now, I’m grateful for every obstacle because it helped build the foundation for where Flaair Decor is today.

Building this business while balancing a corporate career, graduate school, motherhood, and personal health challenges has shaped the way I approach both business and life. It has taught me the importance of consistency, authenticity, and always creating with intention.
