Life & Work with Paige Alexander of Dallas-Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Alexander.

Hi Paige, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I became intrigued with content creation during peak Covid-time like most of the larger content creators. I was mainly a consumer and participated in some trends for fun, but nothing serious. I had one random viral video about my ex-husband getting annoyed that I took up a large amount of our bed when sleeping, and ended up getting a free king-sized mattress due to the virality. It was then that I first noticed the power of social media. I started turning to content after my divorce to share my every day thoughts as a source of speaking my truth to audiences that would find my videos and relate to them. I wanted to help other men and women in their 20’s-30’s who were going through something similar as me. I didn’t have any friends that had been divorced at the time and I felt very alone, so turning to the internet and using it as my “online diary” really helped me heal and reach others in similar situations which was incredibly therapeutic for me. I have a true passion for helping others and amplifying voices that deserve to be heard in marginalized communities. I started gaining traction for my posts and felt a deep sense of purpose and creativity through social media. A year ago, I joined a Dallas Creators Club which honestly changed my life. I was able to connect with other creators in the space in person versus online, gain wisdom from larger creators, have a sense of real community, and make the most genuine connections and friendships. This inspired me even further to start posting every day and making content creation my part-time job. I started getting bigger brand deals and more importantly, having heavier conversations that have helped so many in many facets which gives me a beautiful sense of purpose and light. It has been the biggest blessing and something that I have an immense passion and affinity for.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road in the slightest. Speaking up about controversial issues comes with an immense amount of backlash. I have had my character attacked, personal and hurtful things said about my marriage, my looks criticized, and have been harassed by stalkers. I am grateful for the retaliations though because they have humbled me and taught me a lot. I have learned to be more careful with my words and not as reactive, to think before I speak online, to express and articulate my feelings in a calmer way, and to see other viewpoints and really think about how speaking out will affect others. I think self-reflecting personally and professionally is such a powerful tool and one that I am proud to possess and always working on. Nothing worth having comes easy.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My niches are moreso lifestyle than anything. I love to speak my mind and prefer to not have a specific “niche” because I love talking about everything and anything that comes to mind. I am obsessed with all things health and wellness, beauty, fashion, helping others, speaking up for others, community, all things Dallas + the surrounding areas, smaller restaurants, new restaurants, brands that are trying to get their name out there that are incredible, and friendship + relationships. I find so much value in connecting about the important things in life and offering advice or words of wisdom. I also love just joking online because life is so hard and too many take life way too seriously and we all deserve to live this life to the fullest and let loose more. We’re only on this big floating rock for so long and we deserve to be our authentic selves and see the world, goof off, laugh and make light of so many scenarios we all relate to. Very few things in life are rarely that serious. All in all, I hope to always create a safe space for my audience and I have many in my DMs often asking for advice and I have made so many internet friends through the art of being my authentic self which is my biggest purpose and joy.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along the way is to not feed into negativity. Many that comment hurtful things under your post are hurt themselves. Hurt people, hurt people and it’s not a reflection of you, but rather their own insecurities they’re projecting. I also don’t get caught up on analytics or “likes” too much. I post because I love to post and it’s my outlet. If a video doesn’t perform how I hope, that’s okay because it brought me joy to create it in the first place. Online is not reality and you have to live your life and be happy in your real life too, which is why I love being authentic online whether I’m having a hard day or the best day.
