Hi Alfred, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
During the midst of COVID, while working in education, I found myself searching for a balloon artist for an event. Little did I know, that search would spark the beginning of my entrepreneurial journey. I stepped into the world of event décor, discovered a passion for creativity and design, and turned an unexpected moment into the start of my event décor company
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, I started with passion and creativity, but there were a lot of challenges along the way. Transitioning from education into entrepreneurship meant learning an entirely new industry while building a business from the ground up. In the beginning, I had to wear every hat—designer, balloon artist, marketer, salesperson, and business owner all at once.
There were moments of self-doubt, long nights, balancing a full-time career while growing the business, and learning how to price my work confidently. I also had to navigate the challenges of building a client base, managing finances, and figuring out systems and processes through trial and error. But each struggle taught me something valuable and helped shape the company into what it is today.
The journey hasn’t been perfect, but every obstacle has pushed me to grow—not just as a business owner, but as a person.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the owner and creative force behind an event décor company focused on creating immersive, elevated experiences that turn moments into memories. We specialize in custom event design, luxury décor installations, balloon artistry, statement backdrops, lounge experiences, and full event styling for celebrations ranging from social events and milestone birthdays to corporate activations and specialty experiences.
Over time, I’ve become known for creating unique, high impact designs that feel personal and intentional. I love transforming spaces and bringing a client’s vision to life in a way that goes beyond décor ,it creates an experience. Whether it’s a dramatic entrance, a custom bar moment, a themed activation, or a fully transformed room, I focus on the details that make guests stop and say ‘wow.’
What I’m most proud of is building this business from an unexpected starting point. What began as a simple search for a balloon artist while working in education evolved into a company that allows me to combine creativity, passion, and purpose. I’m proud of the growth, the relationships built with clients, and being trusted to create spaces for some of life’s most meaningful moments.
What sets me apart is my ability to think beyond traditional décor. I don’t just decorate events I design experiences. I approach every project with creativity, intentionality, and a desire to create something customized rather than one-size-fits-all. I believe every event should tell a story, and my goal is to make each one feel unforgettable.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is my family and being able to help others. Family is my foundation—they keep me grounded, motivated, and remind me why I work so hard. They are a constant source of love, support, and inspiration in my life.
I also find fulfillment in helping others, whether that’s through creating memorable experiences for clients, supporting people in my community, or simply making someone’s day better. Being able to positively impact others brings me a sense of purpose. For me, success isn’t just about building a business; it’s about creating something meaningful and using it to serve and uplift people around me.
