Check Out Jessica Stettler’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Stettler.

Hi Jessica, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My career journey began after graduating from the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. What was supposed to be an eight-week event marketing internship in Beverly Hills turned into eight incredibly formative years in Los Angeles, where I gained hands-on experience working with a variety of clients, from global brands to emerging startups. Along the way, I managed freelance social media projects, served as a style columnist for FabFitFun, and picked up a few uniquely LA side gigs. Those experiences taught me how to think creatively, adapt quickly, and connect with a wide variety of audiences while strengthening my skills in content creation, storytelling, and brand marketing.

As my passion for digital marketing and social media grew, I transitioned into the travel industry, joining Viking Cruises, where I further developed my expertise in social media strategy, content creation, and audience engagement for a globally recognized brand. That experience gave me valuable insight into how strategic storytelling can strengthen brand loyalty and drive business results at scale.

In 2016, I relocated to the Dallas area and joined Envoy Air, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines Group and American’s largest regional airline. I was hired as a Social Specialist in a newly created role and given the opportunity to build the company’s social media presence from the ground up. As the business evolved, so did my role. What started with organic social media expanded into paid media, digital marketing, public relations, event planning, web strategy, and corporate communications.

Today, I serve as Digital Engagement & Partnerships Manager, where I lead integrated digital campaigns, strategic partnerships, social media strategy, and content initiatives that strengthen our employer brand and help attract top talent. I’ve also had the opportunity to contribute to several large-scale projects, including the redesign of Envoy’s external website and the modernization of our employee portal, which supports more than 22,000 team members across the organization.

At the heart of everything I do is a passion for storytelling; finding creative ways to connect people with brands, build engagement, and drive meaningful business results.

Outside of my corporate career, I’m passionate about helping others grow professionally. Through my business, the digital girlie™, I help professionals elevate their personal brands through LinkedIn optimization and résumé development. I also serve as an Executive Organizer for DallasMeetup, where I help plan and promote networking events that bring together professionals from a wide range of industries and backgrounds.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like most careers, mine has included its share of challenges, and in many ways, those experiences have been some of my greatest teachers.

One of the most difficult periods of my career was during pregnancy and the postpartum transition. At the time, I was navigating pregnancy complications, working under an unsupportive manager, and facing the reality of having no paid maternity leave. Returning to work just 12 weeks after giving birth was incredibly challenging, both emotionally and professionally.

Since becoming a mom, I’ve continued to navigate the ongoing balancing act that many working parents know well, trying to be fully present for my family while also pursuing ambitious professional goals. It’s not something I’ve perfected, and I think that balance looks different in every season of life. What I’ve learned is the importance of giving myself grace, setting boundaries, and focusing on what matters most in both my career and personal life.

Thankfully, I haven’t had to navigate those challenges alone. Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to have mentors who have offered guidance, perspective, and encouragement. They’ve helped me work through obstacles, identify opportunities for growth, and build confidence in my abilities.

My parents and husband have also been an incredible source of support. They have always been in my corner, encouraging me, celebrating wins alongside me, and helping me stay focused on my goals. Having that support system has made a tremendous difference.

Looking back, while I wouldn’t choose some of those challenges again, I’m grateful for what they taught me. They strengthened my resilience, deepened my empathy as a leader and teammate, and reinforced the importance of supporting and advocating for others who may be navigating similar experiences.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At my core, I’m a strategic storyteller and digital marketer who helps brands connect with the right audiences in meaningful ways. My expertise lies in building integrated, multi-channel campaigns that drive engagement, strengthen brand reputation, and support talent acquisition goals through a combination of compelling content and data-driven decision-making.

Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work across social media, paid media, public relations, content strategy, web development, partnerships, and employer branding. Because of that, I’m often known for being able to see the bigger picture and connecting different channels and initiatives into a cohesive strategy that delivers measurable results.

I’m honored that this work has been recognized through awards such as the 2025 Envoy President’s Award, an annual honor nominated by colleagues and awarded by our President and CEO, as well as being named DFWIMA’s Marketer of the Year in both 2025 and 2026. I was also recognized by Digital Women as a Digital Woman to Watch and a Social Media Manager of the Year finalist.

What sets me apart is a combination of vision and versatility. I genuinely enjoy both sides of the work—the creative side of crafting stories that resonate with people and the analytical side of measuring performance, identifying opportunities, and optimizing for results.

I would also say my work ethic has played a significant role in shaping my career. That’s something I inherited from my dad, who built and operated his own successful business for more than 30 years. Growing up, I watched him approach every task with discipline, consistency, and an unwavering commitment to quality. He believed in doing things the right way, even when it required extra effort, and that philosophy has stayed with me throughout my career.

Because of that, I’ve always believed in taking ownership, staying curious, and being willing to do the work behind the scenes to achieve long-term results. Whether I’m leading a large-scale campaign, mentoring professionals on their personal brand, or tackling a new challenge, I strive to bring that same level of commitment, accountability, and excellence to everything I do.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Dallas has definitely grown on me over the years. What I love most is that it’s an incredible place to build a career and raise a family. The business community is strong, there are so many opportunities for professional growth, and the cost of living and quality of life make it a great place to put down roots.

If I had to pick something I miss, it would be California’s weather, landscape/natural beauty, and overall lifestyle. There’s something special about having the beach, mountains, and perfect weather all within reach. Those are hard things to replicate anywhere else.

That said, Dallas has given me opportunities both professionally and personally that I’m incredibly grateful for, and it’s become a place I’m proud to call home.
