Hi Justice, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey into technology, entrepreneurship, and education has been anything but traditional. Today, I am the Founder of Techpreneurship Academy, Founder of Devon Design Agency, UX Designer, educator, speaker, and business owner. However, my path started with a simple desire to create a better future for myself and help others do the same.
I earned my degree in Software Engineering from Kennesaw State University and later expanded my expertise through UX design training and certifications. Early in my career, I discovered a passion for solving complex business problems through technology and user experience design. Over the past decade, I have worked across FinTech, Government, Healthcare, E-commerce, and SaaS industries, contributing to products and experiences used by millions of people.
Throughout my career, I have worked with organizations including Bank of America, PayPal, CDC, USDA, State Farm, and US Bank. These opportunities allowed me to gain valuable experience in product strategy, research, design systems, accessibility, customer experience, and enterprise technology. As my career progressed, I moved into senior and principal-level UX leadership roles, helping organizations improve digital experiences while driving measurable business outcomes.
While building a successful corporate career, I began noticing a gap in the market. Many talented professionals were struggling to break into technology, increase their salaries, secure consulting opportunities, or understand how to leverage their skills beyond traditional employment. I realized that the information I had learned throughout my career could help others accelerate their own success.
That realization led me to launch Techpreneurship Academy.
What started as a passion project quickly evolved into a thriving educational platform and professional development community. My mission became helping professionals not only land jobs in technology but also learn how to create additional income streams through consulting, entrepreneurship, fractional work, government contracting, and business ownership.
Since launching the academy, I have helped hundreds of professionals navigate career transitions, negotiate higher salaries, build consulting businesses, and create new opportunities for themselves. Collectively, Techpreneurship Academy students have generated 20+ millions of dollars in salary increases, job offers, and contract opportunities. Many students have secured six-figure roles, while others have launched successful consulting businesses and government contracting ventures.
As demand for my expertise grew, I expanded my business portfolio by scaling Devon Design Agency, a UX consulting firm that helps organizations improve customer experiences, product strategy, research, and design execution. Through the agency, I have partnered with startups, enterprise organizations, and government entities to solve business challenges through human-centered design.
Beyond consulting and education, I am passionate about creating community. Throughout my career, I have hosted networking events, mentorship programs, workshops, and professional development experiences designed to connect ambitious professionals with opportunities, resources, and industry leaders. I firmly believe that access to information, relationships, and mentorship can transform lives.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my journey has been watching others succeed. Seeing students land mid six-figure opportunities, secure life-changing promotions, launch businesses, and build financial freedom has become one of my greatest motivations. Their success stories reinforce why I continue to teach, mentor, and create programs that help people expand what they believe is possible.
Like many entrepreneurs, my journey has not been without challenges. Building businesses while maintaining a corporate career required discipline, sacrifice, and resilience. There were moments of uncertainty, setbacks, and lessons learned along the way. However, each challenge strengthened my commitment to growth, innovation, and service.
Today, I continue to focus on empowering professionals to build careers and businesses that create both financial success and personal fulfillment. I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it has not been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges was balancing a demanding career in technology while simultaneously building businesses and educational programs from the ground up. Like many entrepreneurs, I faced long hours, uncertainty, setbacks, and the constant need to adapt to an industry that evolves rapidly. I also had to learn new skills beyond my technical expertise, including sales, marketing, operations, and leadership, while continuing to deliver results for clients, employers, and students.
Perhaps the biggest lesson was learning to think beyond employment and embrace entrepreneurship. Building Techpreneurship Academy and my consulting businesses required taking risks, overcoming self-doubt, and staying committed even when outcomes were uncertain. While the journey has been challenging, every obstacle taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of continuous growth. Those experiences have helped me create opportunities not only for myself, but for hundreds of professionals who are looking to advance their careers and build lasting success.

One of the key things that sets Techpreneurship Academy apart is that I teach what you cannot simply find on Google or YouTube. While there is a lot of general information online, most of it does not reflect what actually works in real-world hiring, contracting, consulting, and career advancement situations. My teaching is built from real industry experience across enterprise technology environments, government projects, startups, and consulting engagements.
Everything I teach is grounded in real hands-on experience and direct exposure to how hiring and contracting decisions are actually made inside companies. It comes from years of negotiating offers, building consulting businesses, working with vendors, and navigating internal systems that are rarely explained publicly, along with the trial, error, and refinement needed to understand what actually works in practice.
What I’m most proud of is being able to translate those real-world experiences into practical frameworks that professionals can apply immediately. Instead of theory, my focus is on execution, strategy, and outcomes. The goal is to help people avoid years of confusion and trial and error by giving them access to insights that typically only come from being inside the industry and actively working through these challenges firsthand.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
For anyone just starting out, the biggest advice is to take action early, focus on real-world experience, and not wait for everything to be perfect. Career growth comes faster when you learn by doing and consistently put yourself in positions to grow.
I also wish I had understood earlier how important visibility and positioning are, not just skill. How you present your value, build your network, and show up professionally can significantly impact the opportunities you attract.
Most importantly, progress is not linear. There will be setbacks, but consistency, adaptability, and continued learning are what ultimately lead to long-term success.
