Hi Lisa, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Fifteen years ago, I started this company with a passion for creating unforgettable events in Downtown’s non-traditional venues, including warehouse spaces, art galleries, and other one-of-a-kind locations. Those early experiences taught us how to transform unique spaces into extraordinary celebrations that truly reflected each client’s vision. The process was often challenging, but incredibly rewarding. Over the years, we’ve expanded beyond Downtown and throughout the Valley. Today, we proudly design and produce events across Arizona and nationwide.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The path to building an event planning business in Phoenix hasn’t always been easy. There were long days, financial risks, and moments of uncertainty as I worked to establish the company in a highly competitive industry. In the early years, we specialized in Downtown’s non-traditional venues, where every event came with unique logistical challenges and required us to think creatively to bring our clients’ visions to life. Over time, we weathered economic downturns, adapted to changing client expectations, and persevered through the disruptions of the pandemic. Those experiences taught us resilience, flexibility, and the importance of building strong relationships with both clients and industry partners. Fifteen years later, those lessons continue to guide our work as we create meaningful celebrations and events across Arizona and nationwide.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Building Stylish Events by Lisa into a respected name in Arizona’s event industry meant taking chances and trusting my vision, even when the path wasn’t always clear. Early on, I chose to focus on Downtown Phoenix’s non-traditional venues, and other unique locations that many planners avoided because of the extra logistics and challenges involved. There were moments of uncertainty as I invested time, energy, and resources into growing the business, expanding into new markets, and adapting to an ever-changing industry. But each risk taught me valuable lessons about resilience, creativity, and the importance of staying true to the level of service I wanted to provide. Looking back, those leaps of faith helped shape who we are today and allowed us to become a trusted partner for clients seeking extraordinary events.
