Rising Stars: Meet Mike Creeps of Dallas-Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Creeps.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up in Forrest City, Arkansas, and I’ve always been drawn to creativity, entrepreneurship, and finding ways to build something meaningful from the ground up. Over the years, I’ve worked in education, social services, and community-focused roles while continuing to pursue my own creative ventures on the side.

One of those ventures became Grimace Company, a streetwear and lifestyle brand that blends nostalgia, storytelling, pop culture influences, and original design. What started as a creative outlet evolved into a business where I could express ideas, connect with people, and create products that feel unique and authentic.

Along the way, I’ve learned that entrepreneurship is rarely a straight path. I’ve balanced full-time work, college coursework, and building a brand simultaneously. Those experiences taught me resilience, time management, and the importance of continuing to move forward even when progress feels slow.

Today, I’m completing my degree in education while continuing to grow Grimace Company, collaborate with creators and influencers, and explore opportunities in design, media, and storytelling. Whether it’s apparel, branding, or creative projects, my goal is to build things that inspire people and leave a lasting impact.

Looking back, the biggest lesson has been that you don’t have to wait for perfect circumstances to start. Some of the best opportunities have come from simply taking action, learning as I go, and staying committed to the vision.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I’ve learned that challenges are often where the biggest growth happens. One of the biggest obstacles has been balancing multiple responsibilities at the same time. While building my brand and pursuing creative projects, I was also working full-time and completing my college degree. There were many days when it felt like there weren’t enough hours in the day.

Another challenge has been building a business from a smaller market. In larger cities, creative entrepreneurs often have more access to resources, events, and networking opportunities. Coming from the Arkansas Delta, I’ve had to be intentional about creating opportunities, building relationships online, and putting myself in rooms where I can learn and grow.

Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve also faced moments of self-doubt, financial limitations, and projects that didn’t go as planned. Not every design is a success, not every opportunity works out, and sometimes progress happens slower than expected. However, those experiences taught me resilience and forced me to become more adaptable.

Looking back, I’m grateful for the obstacles because they helped shape my mindset. They taught me to stay consistent, keep learning, and focus on long-term growth rather than instant results. The journey hasn’t been easy, but it has been worth it, and I believe the challenges have prepared me for bigger opportunities ahead.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a creative entrepreneur, designer, and brand builder. Most of my work centers around apparel design, branding, storytelling, and developing ideas that connect with people on a deeper level. I’m the founder of Grimace Company, a streetwear and lifestyle brand that combines nostalgia, culture, humor, and original design into wearable products.

My creative process usually starts with a story or emotion rather than a trend. I draw inspiration from everyday experiences, childhood memories, music, sports, pop culture, and the communities around me. Whether I’m creating apparel, developing a brand identity, or working on a creative project, I try to create work that feels authentic and memorable.

What I’m most proud of is building something from the ground up while balancing work, school, and other responsibilities. Every design, customer, collaboration, and opportunity has been earned through consistency and a willingness to keep learning. I’ve had the opportunity to connect with creators, influencers, and customers from different backgrounds, which has helped expand both my perspective and my business.

I believe what sets me apart is my ability to blend creativity with storytelling. I’m not interested in simply putting graphics on clothing—I want every collection, design, and project to have a purpose and a story behind it. Coming from the Arkansas Delta has also shaped my perspective. It taught me how to be resourceful, create opportunities where they don’t exist, and stay grounded while pursuing bigger goals.

As I continue to grow Grimace Company and pursue other creative ventures, my goal is to build brands, experiences, and stories that inspire people while proving that meaningful ideas can come from anywhere.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
One of the best ways people can support my work is simply by following the journey, engaging with the content, and sharing the brand with others. Small actions like liking, commenting, sharing, and word-of-mouth recommendations go a long way for independent creators and entrepreneurs.

For those interested in working together, I’m always open to collaborating with creators, influencers, photographers, videographers, artists, and other entrepreneurs who share a passion for creativity and authentic storytelling. I enjoy partnerships that feel genuine and create value for everyone involved.

People can also support by purchasing products from Grimace Company and helping us continue to grow as an independent brand. Every order represents someone choosing to support a vision, and I never take that for granted.

Looking ahead, I’m interested in expanding through brand collaborations, creative campaigns, pop-up events, content creation, and community-focused projects. If someone has an idea that aligns with what I’m building, I’m always open to having a conversation.

At the end of the day, my goal is to build meaningful connections and create work that people are proud to support, wear, and share with others.
