Community Highlights: Meet Tosin Olatunbosun of The Curated Gift Co.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tosin Olatunbosun.

Hi Tosin, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
For nearly 15 years, I’ve worked in cybersecurity, information security, and enterprise risk management, leading governance and security initiatives that help organizations securely scale technology innovation, including emerging technologies like AI. My career has been centered on protecting critical systems, managing risk, and building trust at enterprise scale, and it’s work I’m proud to continue doing full-time today.
As I reached certain milestones in life and career, my perspective on success began to evolve. I started thinking about legacy, purpose, and what I wanted to build for myself and my family. I never wanted to look back on my life and wonder if I had spent all of my energy helping build someone else’s vision without making room for my own dreams too.
I’ve always loved creating meaningful experiences, thoughtful gifts, and beautiful celebrations. What started as a creative outlet eventually became The Curated Gift Co., a luxury gifting and experiential events business focused on creating memorable moments through experiences like our signature Scent Bar Experience.
One thing I’ve learned is that small businesses are rarely built alone. My husband has sacrificed countless weekends helping transport equipment, set up for events, and support me however needed. My parents, siblings, and children have all played a role behind the scenes as well. While I may be the face of the business, it has truly been a family effort.
Building this business hasn’t replaced my career, it has complemented it. It’s reminded me that success isn’t about choosing one path. Sometimes it’s about giving yourself permission to pursue all the things that fulfill you.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not, although many of the challenges have come from growth.
I started this business while maintaining a demanding career and raising a family, so balancing everything can sometimes be a challenge. What surprised me most is how quickly the business grew. Having launched earlier this year, I expected a much slower build, but demand came far faster than anticipated. Within just a few months, we found ourselves booking events almost every weekend, which reinforced that there was a real appetite for unique, experiential event activations.
Now the challenge is one many entrepreneurs face: how do you scale while maintaining the quality that earned your clients’ trust in the first place? We have the equipment, inventory, and infrastructure to support multiple events at the same time. The bigger challenge is building a team of reliable people who can represent the brand, transport and manage equipment, and deliver the same level of care and attention to detail that I would personally bring to every event.
I’ve always believed the details matter. Every guest interaction, customization, and event setup reflects our brand. As we grow, my focus remains on protecting that experience and ensuring every client receives the level of quality they deserve. The biggest lesson has been realizing that growth isn’t just about getting more customers, it’s about building the systems, processes, and team needed to deliver the same exceptional experience every single time. As we continue to grow, that’s the standard I’m committed to protecting.

As you know, we’re big fans of The Curated Gift Co.. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
The Curated Gift Co. specializes in luxury gifting and experiential activations. Experiential gifting is the growing trend of replacing traditional favors with interactive experiences, such as perfume bars, gift shops, beauty stations, and other activations that engage guests during the event while giving them something personalized to take home. We’re best known for our signature Scent Bar Experience, where guests create a custom fragrance and leave with a keepsake Eau de Parfun they will actually use and cherish.
What sets us apart is our attention to detail. I often describe our set up as “event jewelry”, beautiful, photo-worthy, and thoughtfully integrated into the overall event design.
From custom signage and gold-foiled labels to our carefully curated Eau de Parfum fragrance collection, every detail is intentionally designed to create a luxury experience. We want guests to be wowed the moment they approach our display and leave with a custom fragrance they’ll genuinely love and continue enjoying long after the event ends.
I’m also proud of how intentionally we’ve built the business. We’ve invested heavily upfront, we own our equipment, and carefully source quality materials so we can deliver exceptional experiences without passing unnecessary costs on to our clients. I believe luxury should be defined by quality and experience, not simply by price.
One of the most unexpected gifts of this business has been the people. I’ve met incredible clients, venue owners, planners, and fellow entrepreneurs throughout DFW, and I’ve been overwhelmed by the support of friends who have shown up, booked services, shared opportunities, referred clients, and celebrated every milestone along the way. What once felt like a massive metroplex now feels much more like a community.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I think we’re seeing a major shift from traditional event favors to interactive experiences. Hosts are bringing everyday pleasures directly into their events through event gift shops, event vending machines, mobile drink and dessert bars, beauty activations, event vending machines, arcade-style experiences, and other creative guest experiences.
Guests want more than something to take home, they want something to do, experience, and remember. Personalization is also becoming increasingly important, with hosts looking for ways to make every detail feel unique to their celebration or brand.
At the end of the day, people remember how an event made them feel. The future belongs to experiences that create excitement, spark conversation, and leave a lasting impression long after the event is over.
