Rising Stars: Meet Esmeralda Garcia of Dallas-Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Esmeralda Garcia.

Esmeralda , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a first generation American with dreams that my family would have never imagined possible or dreams that don’t sound like a real attainable job. Yet from as early as I can remember, I have been captivated by the arts. Actresses, singers, performers, there was something about their ability to move people, tell stories, and create beauty that left me in awe. To me, it looked like freedom.

In middle school, I discovered my love for acting when I was cast as Alice in our production of Alice in Wonderland. I still remember standing on that stage and feeling a sense of joy and belonging that is difficult to put into words. As a little girl watching Disney Channel or seeing pop stars perform, I constantly asked myself, “How can I be a part of that?” I grew up during the early days of YouTube and admired creators who built communities through creativity and authenticity. Anything that involved creating and showing the world was amusing to me, even if I couldn’t put my finger on what I wanted, you can’t blame 10 year old Esme for not having an exact passion because well, she’s 10 and wanted to try it all!

Fashion then became a huge part of who I am. It would make me feel like I can be who ever I want to be just by what I wear. Fashion for me is more than just clothes you put on, it is tangeable wearable artistry, it is empowering and mood changing, it can help bring your identity together and I mean who doesn’t feel good in a good outfit. Throughout High School I was inspired by fashion influencers on instagram and pintrest so I tried to be one and taught my little brother who was around 6 years old at the time how to take my photos. It didn’t go far.

I went to Southwest High School in Fort Worth and I was a part of the braodcast Journalism Program. It was such a great program and I decided to do that because I thought well, this is a career I could do great at, I am behind a camera and I get to inform the world. Mrs. Darcry Deupree Mccready was such a dediacted and knowledgeable teacher who is passionate for what she does. She is still there now. I was lucky to be there but I would screw up a lot of times and not take it as seriously the way I should have. I was definitely around the wrong influences and couldn’t see it at the time. Junior year of HS my team won Gold at the SkillsUSA Media in Video News Production, I was the Anchor. After that, I felt so proud that I decided this was a serious enough job and this is what I should be. That decision didn’t go far.

After High School (2020 graduate) I decided to just study business and thought “well after I graduate and have my bachelors I could try out acting on the side.” I am a covid gradute so I definitely was ready to travel and see the world. I saved up and got the opportunity to be able to visit Italy for a month and then Costa Rica for another month while taking my online classes at TCC. Those experiences transformed me. Italy shaped my eye for beauty, design, and style, while Costa Rica changed me internally, teaching me to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with myself. When I returned home, I entered a period of deep self-reflection. It was a year marked by healing, growth, and rediscovering my confidence, not only in who I am, but in my ability to create.

My brother, John Garcia, has always been one of the greatest champions of pursuing one’s dreams. As a director, he gave me opportunities to act in his short films when I decided to seriously explore acting. I also sought out local projects on my own and continue to train at TBell’s Acting Studio in Dallas, where I have further developed my craft.

Today, my journey has led me to another creative pursuit: content creation. While acting remains one of my passions, I have come to realize that content creation and storytelling through social media are not separate from my artistic goals, they are extensions of them. I see both as forms of entertainment, connection, and self-expression.

As a creator, I hope to build an audience not only through fashion and lifestyle content, but through authenticity, humor, and creativity. I want to create work that inspires people, particularly those who may not often see themselves represented in creative spaces. I believe deeply that storytelling, whether through film, photography, fashion, or social media, has the power to make people feel seen.

For much of my life, I questioned whether these dreams were realistic. Today, I no longer ask whether they are possible. I know they are. I am no longer waiting for permission to create the life I envision. I am building it.

And for the first time, I am certain: this dream will go far.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I do not believe life was ever meant to be a smooth road. Some of my greatest challenges have from within my own mind. We are often our own harshest critics and greatest obstacles. Yet through growth and self-reflection, I have learned one of life’s most important lessons: to become a friend to myself rather than an adversary.

Today, I stand in a place of greater self-trust and understanding. I have realized that fear often stands between us and the life we dream of living, and that those willing to take risks are often the ones who discover what is possible. Growth requires courage, and I have learned that the greatest rewards often belong to those brave enough to pursue them.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an aspiring actress and emerging content creator, still at the beginning of my journey but deeply committed to where it is leading. While these dreams may seem ambitious or silly, I have learned that every accomplished artist and creator once started as a beginner. This is not simply what I hope to become, it is the path I am actively building.

I am most recognized for my chic sense of style and for creating relatable content on TikTok and Instagram. Through fashion, storytelling, and humor, I strive to create content that feels both aspirational and authentic. As my audience grows, I hope to expand into long-form platforms such as YouTube, where I can further share my creativity, personality, and experiences in a more meaningful way.

At the heart of everything I create is a desire to connect with others, inspire self-expression, and remind people that pursuing creative dreams, no matter how unconventional they may seem, is always worthwhile.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I think risk taking needs you to be a bit more confident in yourself. Those who can get to a level of comfortable with risk taking will experience more, make more and live more.
