Exploring Life & Business with Josh Jones of CoVerica

Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh Jones.

Hi Josh, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
After seeing the success my brother-in-law was having in the insurance industry, I inquired about how i could get involved. That turned into a job opportunity at the same company. I didn’t immediately start working with high value insurance. There were a couple of years of trial and error with different referral networks. I even tried a yearlong program that primarily focuses on business insurance. Ultimately, I gravitated toward cars. It was always something I knew I could talk about to anyone and it opened up a lot of doors for me. Now I primarily work with high value personal assets (home, cars, watercraft, jewelry, artwork). Cars are still a catalyst towards discussing the entire insurance portfolio. I “get into the house through the garage.”

These client relationships offer us an opportunity to showcase cars on a bi-monthly basis. We have been hosting an invitational car meet at CoVerica going on 7 years now. We are able to bring in some really special cars all while raising funds that contribute to our non-profit and charity efforts in the area,

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Covid did some weird things to the world. From my perspective, it was great for business! Most people started working from home more and were generally more accessible. Also, people started buying cars like crazy. I suppose it’s because driving around was just about the only fun thing you could do with your friends at the time.

When we started our car events, we had really unlucky timing. The first couple of events we just a handful of people. We still gathered outside and spaced cars 6 feet apart and masked up. It was goofy, but we did our best to follow guidelines as we understood them. We just HAD to get out of the house. I think everyone was feeling really stir crazy, which ended up being a good thing because all of us were really anxious to see people again.

For the most part, we have really had a great thing going. People are respectful of the venue and grateful for a comfortable place to meet up without enormous crowds. Occasionally you run into things like people revving their car excessively or tearing out of the parking lot. I’d say 99% of our patrons understand the effort we have put into making this an event they can feel safe at. The overwhelming majority are very respectful.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about CoVerica?
