Today we’d like to introduce you to Empress Simone.
Hi Empress, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is E. Simone, and I often tell people that my journey wasn’t built from a perfect plan—it was built from purpose, resilience, and a willingness to learn as I went.
Professionally, I work full-time in healthcare compliance and credentialing, but entrepreneurship has always been a part of who I am. Over the years, I’ve built multiple brands and service-based businesses centered around creativity, education, events, and helping others bring their ideas to life. Many people know me as The Business Doula because I help individuals and small business owners nurture their ideas from concept to execution.
My entrepreneurial journey was shaped by several life experiences, including becoming a mother, navigating difficult seasons, and learning how to create opportunities instead of waiting for them. As a two-time NICU mom, my experiences also inspired me to launch initiatives that support and encourage other families walking similar journeys. Those experiences taught me resilience, advocacy, and the importance of community.
What started as designing flyers and helping friends with projects gradually evolved into branding, business strategy, event planning, digital education, and consulting. Along the way, I discovered that my true gift wasn’t simply creating products or services—it was helping people see possibilities. Whether I’m building a brand, planning an event, creating educational resources, or mentoring an entrepreneur, my goal is always the same: help someone move from where they are to where they want to be.
Today, I lead several ventures under my company, including The Doula Collective, which encompasses business development, branding, event planning, and creative services. I’m also the founder of The Healing Seat, a women’s empowerment platform and live event focused on healing, faith, personal growth, and authentic conversations.
When I look back, every chapter of my story—from motherhood and homeownership to corporate leadership and entrepreneurship—has prepared me for the work I do today. I believe success isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about being willing to learn, pivot, serve, and keep moving forward. My mission is to use my experiences, skills, and creativity to help others build something meaningful for themselves and their communities.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely has not been a smooth road, and honestly, I don’t think most meaningful journeys are.
One of my biggest challenges has been balancing multiple roles at once. I’m a mother, a full-time corporate professional, an entrepreneur, and a community advocate. There have been seasons where I was building a business late at night after putting my children to bed and then waking up early to do it all again the next day.
I’ve also faced challenges that many entrepreneurs experience but don’t always talk about openly—self-doubt, burnout, financial risks, and the pressure of being the person responsible for making things happen. Building a business often requires investing in yourself before you see a return, and there were times when I had to trust the process even when the results weren’t immediate.
As a two-time NICU mom, I’ve also navigated personal hardships that changed my perspective on life. Those experiences taught me resilience, patience, and gratitude. They reminded me that some of our greatest challenges can become the foundation for our purpose.
Another lesson I’ve learned is that vision alone isn’t enough. You need consistency, discipline, and the willingness to pivot. Not every idea succeeds exactly as planned, and not every opportunity is meant for you. Learning when to adapt, when to let go, and when to keep pushing forward has been one of the most valuable parts of my journey.
Looking back, I wouldn’t remove the struggles because they helped shape who I am today. They taught me how to problem-solve, how to serve others with empathy, and how to keep moving forward even when the path isn’t clear.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m the founder of The Doula Collective, a creative ecosystem designed to help individuals and businesses bring their ideas to life. Through brands like The Graphixs Doula, The Party Doula, and The Healing Seat, I specialize in branding, creative strategy, event experiences, digital products, and business development.
At my core, I’m a builder. I love taking a concept that exists only in someone’s mind and helping them transform it into something people can see, experience, and connect with. That may look like developing a brand identity, creating marketing materials, planning a memorable event, designing educational resources, or helping an entrepreneur organize and launch a new idea.
What I’m most proud of is building businesses and platforms that create opportunities for others. Whether it’s helping a small business owner show up more confidently, creating spaces where women can connect and heal, or teaching creatives how to monetize their skills, my work is rooted in empowerment and execution.
What sets me apart is my ability to see the bigger picture. Many people focus on a logo, a flyer, or an event. I focus on the entire experience. I help clients think beyond what they’re creating today and consider how it connects to their long-term vision. I’m equally passionate about strategy and creativity, which allows me to bridge the gap between having a great idea and building something sustainable around it.
I’ve also never believed in gatekeeping information. A large part of my brand is education. I enjoy teaching people the “why” behind what works, not just delivering a finished product. My goal is for every client to leave with more clarity, confidence, and knowledge than they had when they arrived.
More than anything, I want The Doula Collective to be known as a place where ideas are nurtured, creativity is valued, and people are given the tools and support they need to bring their vision to life.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are several ways to work with and support what I’m building.
Entrepreneurs, creatives, and organizations can collaborate with me through branding, creative strategy, business development, digital product creation, and event planning services offered through The Doula Collective. Whether someone is launching a new business, refreshing an existing brand, planning a community event, or looking for creative solutions to bring an idea to life, I love partnering with people who are passionate about making an impact.
People can also support my work by attending and sharing initiatives like The Healing Seat, engaging with my content, referring small businesses and organizations that could benefit from my services, and simply being advocates for the communities and causes I serve.
I’m always open to meaningful partnerships, speaking opportunities, community collaborations, vendor opportunities, and projects that align with my mission of helping people move from vision to execution. The best collaborations happen when creativity, purpose, and community come together, and that’s exactly the type of work I enjoy being a part of.
The easiest way to connect with me is through my website, social media platforms, or by reaching out directly. I believe some of the best opportunities begin with a simple conversation.
