Daily Inspiration: Meet Keith Jenkins Jr.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keith Jenkins Jr..

Hi Keith, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi my name is KeithJenkinsJr

For the last 20 years, I’ve been making music. But for the past 5, I’ve finally found my lane—music and messages for the ones life tried to break.

My songs and my story are for:
• The ones battling suicidal thoughts
• People who’ve lost someone to suicide
• Those going through grief, divorce, or separation
• Folks who’ve lost jobs, been evicted, lived in their car, or on the street
• People struggling with addiction or wondering who they really are
• The ones who feel like they’ve failed, or that hope is gone

I’ve been there. I don’t write from theory—I write from survival.
And now, I speak to bring hope to the hurting, whether it’s on stage, in a song, or face-to-face with people who need it most.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
dealing with my fathers suicide, my best friend walking away from me after the fact, then my wife leaving – all in the span of 12 months.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As an artist I have dedicated my lifespan work toward helping people through tough season of grief and loss, as well as celebrating good times. I am most proud of my song “Let Him cook!” which has blown up on social media after Andy Elliot shared it on his story.

I’m different because I recognize that grief-can be good.

What matters most to you? Why?
My daughter.
Girls need their fathers all their life.

My sister.
Because she is my biggest inspiration.

My mom.
Because without her, I would not be here today, her prayers saved my life.

All my adopted moms and Mrs. Kathy.
All of them played a huge role in keeping me sane through the darkest parts of my life.

Mrs. Dorie,
Who saw my struggles, knew what I was dealing with was deeper than surface level, and spoke life to me, when all I wanted was death and to no longer be here anymore.

Jesus – because He gave me a reason to live through all the people above.
