Life & Work with Guthrie of Dallas-Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Guthrie.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
In elementary school my friend was a drummer, and he got me playing, and I started playing bass back in the 6th grade. I’ve been playing ever since for 60 years or so.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Playing music has always been an interesting road to travel .

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m an original artist, writing my own songs. I have five albums, specializing in Americana, and Blues out as Guthrie Kennard. I’ve also have played with numerous other recorded national Blues artists.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I’ve always been grateful I’ve never thought of it as bad luck or good luck more like timing
