Today we’d like to introduce you to Adonai – Nova Events.
Hi Adonai -, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I come from a family deeply connected to Black Wall Street on my mom’s side of the family tree, and after learning there’s been a drastic decrease in family businesses and that we no longer have land attached to our family name, I made it my mission to re-establish our legacy. Nova Events is the newest extension of the Nova umbrella company (Nova Productions), which also includes Nova Lux, Nova Lux AI (AI-driven & traditional photo/videography), and soon Nova Estates and Nova Motors.
I’ve always had a wide range of interests, and I see that as a strength — it allows me to build across industries and provide various avenues for relatives & future generations to choose from. By far, Nova Events is my favorite because it’s an outlet to express my passion for unifying and uplifting communities. We host everything from vendor markets and nature walks, to Group Grounding sessions, which are gentle yoga and meditation practices that became so popular we’re now expanding into HOA communities throughout the DFW area. We’ve since grown into a multi-community platform with five pillars: Nova Yoga & Meditation, Nova Music, Nova Talent, Nova Table, and Nova Elevation — each offering a unique way for locals to connect, create, and grow together.
Currently, I’m organizing a Heal the World Discussion Panel, under the Nova Elevation branch, which has the potential to turn into a tour, bringing these important community conversations to cities beyond DFW.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of my biggest challenges has been training AI to serve as my business partner and personal assistant. I’m currently building a ‘Master System’—teaching the AI everything it needs to know about me and my businesses so that when I ask it to produce something, it already understands my style, tone, and structure. This saves me hours of time and energy that would otherwise be spent reintroducing myself from scratch, every single time. The process has involved technical difficulties and learning how to communicate effectively with AI—but it’s coming together.
Another challenge has been finding cost-effective ways to advertise. Online marketing gives me a wider reach, but I’ve found grassroots marketing to be slightly more effective because of the interpersonal connection it creates. Balancing both is the sweet spot.
Building a trustworthy and reliable team has been an ongoing process—especially while trying to maintain a consistent social media presence on top of everything else. Having the right people in place will make the biggest difference.
Finding locations to host events has also been a learning curve. Since I’m not originally from the area, I discovered that some spots I thought would be perfect—because of heavy foot traffic—required me to rent police officers, ambulances, and even block off roads. That could cost up to $5,000 just to ensure safety for a few hours, not to mention parking availability, which is extremely important. This is where I realized that collaborations are essential. Partnering with an established venue creates a win-win: I get a space to host, and they get extra promotion and foot traffic. I found this to be more effective for community building—which is the root of our core values—and it allows us to form meaningful bonds along the way.
Finally, securing collaborations has been more time-consuming than I anticipated. I’ve been ping-ponged between contacts and had to navigate different chains of command. I don’t like to be pushy, but I’ve learned that persistence is necessary to stay on people’s radar and avoid being forgotten.
These are essential key points to prepare for when entering the community organizing space. Establishing a strategic plan can drastically help avoid being discouraged—which is common when doing something new.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Nova Productions (umbrella company) – Nova Events?
Q) What’re you known for?
A) Nova Events is the heartbeat of community connection. When people think of unity, I want us to be the 1st thought that comes to mind – like when you see red & yellow and instinctively think of McDonalds. We’re not just hosting events. We’re the gold standard for what a healthy, thriving community looks like – making a difference in the process.
Q) What sets you apart?
A) I believe what sets us apart is the heart behind it. This isn’t just a business to me – it’s a personal mission of mine to build something meant to outlast me. Right now, what our people need more than anything is unity. It’s essential & the very thing that determines our future for humanity.
I’m not interested in surface-level events. I’m building a legacy. Every event, every person we reach, and every community we bring closer together is a step toward something that truly matters. My willingness to embrace innovation – training AI and consistently experimenting with new ways to serve communities – sets us apart in a world where most businesses stay stuck in their ways; recycling original ideas that was once had. I’ve known since a child that I was brought here for the next generation, and Nova Events is me fulfilling that purpose.
Q) What’re you most proud of?
A) I’m most proud of moments like when I step back and watch strangers become friends, and local businesses exchange information to support one another. It fills my heart seeing nervous first-timers leave a Group Grounding session with a smile, eager to come back – and sometimes bringing friends with them when they do. Hearing someone say, ‘I needed this so much’ – that’s everything to me.
What I’m even more proud of is our ability to listen to what people want and bring it to life for them. Like when we extended our Group Grounding sessions to residential communities after participants expressed how convenient it would be for them. They need to feel heard and valued – and more than anything, taken seriously.
Q) What do you want our readers to know about your brand, or services?
A) Everything we do at Nova Events is designed with one thing in mind – community. Whether it’s a sports gathering, a concert performed by local talent, group-focused nature walks, or events like our upcoming Heal the World Discussion Panel – we’re for everyone. We’re for residents & organizations with an idea, corporations wanting to support wellness, or even HOAs wanting to offer something meaningful. We’re here for anyone with a vision; making it simple, accessible, and stress-free. We handle the heavy lifting so you can focus on showing up & doing what you do best.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I’d say it’s a combination of two things that really work hand in hand: my belief in people and my refusal to stay in one lane. People are hungry for something real—something that makes them feel seen, heard, and part of something bigger than themselves. That belief drives everything I do. It’s not a strategy. It’s who I am.
I’m someone who can’t sit still creatively. I’m always thinking about what’s next—how we can reach more people, try new things, and evolve. That restlessness can be exhausting sometimes, but it’s also what keeps me from getting comfortable and stagnant. I’d rather fail trying something new than succeed by sticking to just 1 thing that’s considered safe.
When you combine genuine belief in people with a relentless drive to grow, you can’t help but build something meaningful that will last.
