Today we’d like to introduce you to Deanna Hill.
Hi Deanna, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
If you had told me years ago that I’d become a Realtor, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. Looking back now, though, every step of my journey has prepared me for this career in ways I never imagined.
Before real estate, I worked in the pharmaceutical industry. During that time, I made the decision to take control of my health and ended up losing more than 100 pounds through healthy eating and exercise. That experience completely changed my life. It inspired me to become a certified personal trainer, and I spent the next seven years building my Camp Gladiator business, helping hundreds of people reach goals they once thought were impossible. The greatest lesson I learned wasn’t about fitness—it was about people. I learned how powerful it is to encourage someone, earn their trust, and walk alongside them through an important life journey. Those lessons are ones I carry with me every day as a Realtor.
Real estate has always been close to home because of my mom, who has been in the business for many years. She encouraged me to get my license in 2019, and I quickly realized I had found exactly where I belonged. I was honored to be named Rookie of the Year in 2020, and over the past six years I’ve been blessed to help nearly 100 families buy and sell homes while earning recognition as a Top 100 Realtor in Fort Worth and a Real Producers Top 500 Realtor in North Fort Worth. Most recently, I reached another goal by becoming a licensed real estate broker, something I’m incredibly proud of because it represents my commitment to continuing to learn and better serve my clients.
My husband, John, and I have called the North Fort Worth area home for more than 20 years. We’ve raised our two boys here, and this year has been especially emotional as we celebrated two huge milestones—our oldest son, Dylan, graduated from Texas Tech University, and our youngest, Tyler, graduated from Northwest High School. Watching them grow into the young men they are today has been one of life’s greatest blessings, and it’s reminded me just how important home really is. It’s where memories are made, traditions begin, and families grow.
That’s why I love what I do. Buying or selling a home isn’t just another transaction—it’s often the start of a new chapter. I truly enjoy getting to know my clients, hearing their stories, and helping them find the place where they’ll build their own memories. Many of my clients become friends, and that’s one of the most rewarding parts of this career.
Outside of real estate, you’ll usually find me running, spending time with my family, or loving on our three rescue dogs, Hank, Wally, and Oli. Running has been a part of my life since junior high, and over the years I’ve completed more than 25 half marathons, five full marathons, and countless 5Ks. It’s taught me perseverance, patience, and that the finish line is always worth the effort.
When people ask what sets me apart, I don’t think it’s the awards or the numbers. I think it’s that I genuinely care. I know what it feels like to work hard for your dreams, and I never take for granted the trust my clients place in me. Being invited to help someone through one of the biggest decisions of their life is an honor, and I hope every person I work with feels supported, cared for, and right at home from the very beginning.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the biggest challenges throughout my career has been finding balance. Like so many working moms, I’ve wanted to be fully present for my family while also building a business I’m passionate about. There were seasons when that wasn’t easy—whether it meant attending a school event between showings, answering calls after dinner, or working weekends while trying to protect family time.
I’ve learned that balance doesn’t mean doing everything perfectly. It means being intentional with my time and giving my best to whatever is in front of me. Some days my clients need me a little more, and other days my family comes first. I’ve learned to let go of the idea of perfection and instead focus on being present.
This year has been especially meaningful as we’ve celebrated both of our sons reaching major milestones—our oldest graduating from Texas Tech University and our youngest graduating from Northwest High School. Those moments reminded me why I’ve worked so hard all these years. Building a successful career has been incredibly rewarding, but being there for my family has always been my greatest accomplishment.
Ironically, striving for balance has made me a better Realtor. I understand that buying or selling a home happens during real life—while families are raising children, changing careers, celebrating milestones, and navigating challenges. I can relate to those seasons because I’ve lived them too. My goal is to make the process feel a little less stressful and a lot more personal, so my clients know they have someone in their corner every step of the way.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Broker Associate Phelps Realty Group?
At the heart of my business, it’s all about relationships. Real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes—it’s about helping people through one of the biggest milestones in their lives. Whether someone is purchasing their first home, upgrading for a growing family, downsizing, or relocating, I want them to feel supported, informed, and cared for every step of the way.
I proudly serve buyers and sellers throughout the North Fort Worth and surrounding DFW communities, where my family has called home for more than 20 years. Because I live here, I’m able to offer more than just market knowledge. I can share firsthand insight into the neighborhoods, schools, local businesses, and the lifestyle that make this community such a wonderful place to live.
One thing that sets me apart is that I truly believe every client deserves the same level of service, no matter the price point of their home. I focus on building lasting relationships rather than simply closing transactions. Many of my clients become friends, and a large portion of my business comes from referrals and repeat clients. To me, that’s the greatest compliment I can receive.
People also know me as the “Runnergirl Realtor,” and that brand represents who I am beyond real estate. Running has taught me discipline, consistency, and perseverance—qualities that show up in the way I serve my clients every day. Whether it’s negotiating on their behalf, solving unexpected challenges, or simply being available when they need me, I believe showing up consistently makes all the difference.
I’m also incredibly proud to have recently earned my real estate broker’s license. Continuing my education and growing professionally is important to me because I want my clients to know they’re working with someone who is always learning and striving to provide the highest level of service.
More than anything, I want people to know that when they work with me, they’re getting someone who genuinely cares. I celebrate with my clients when they get the keys to their first home, I understand the emotions that come with selling a home full of memories, and I’m committed to making the process as smooth and enjoyable as possible. My goal has never been to be the biggest Realtor—it has always been to be the one people trust enough to recommend to their family and friends. That’s the legacy I’m most proud of building.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I think the real estate industry will continue to evolve over the next 5–10 years, especially as technology becomes an even bigger part of the buying and selling process. We’re already seeing artificial intelligence, virtual tours, digital marketing, and data-driven tools helping clients make more informed decisions. Those advancements will continue to make transactions more efficient and accessible.
At the same time, I don’t believe technology will ever replace the value of personal relationships. Buying or selling a home is one of the biggest financial and emotional decisions most people will make. No app or algorithm can replace having someone who listens, offers honest advice, negotiates on your behalf, and helps you navigate the unexpected with confidence.
I also think consumers are looking for more than just someone who can unlock doors or list a property online. They want a trusted advisor—someone who knows the local market, communicates well, and genuinely cares about their goals. That’s where experienced Realtors will continue to stand out.
As the market changes, I believe the agents who will thrive are the ones who stay educated, embrace new technology without losing the personal touch, and continue to put relationships ahead of transactions. That’s the kind of business I’ve always wanted to build, and it’s the direction I plan to continue growing in.
No matter how much the industry changes, one thing will always remain the same: people aren’t just buying houses—they’re creating homes and building the next chapter of their lives. Being a small part of that journey will always be the most rewarding part of what I do.
