Conversations with Alexi Marshall

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexi Marshall.

Alexi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up in a small town in northwest Ohio with big dreams of moving south! When COVID-19 hit, I finally found my chance! I graduated with a degree in Animal Science, packed up, and moved to the Lone Star State. After a couple jobs, I found my place with Kimes Ranch in the Fort Worth Stockyards. In 2022, I met the love of my life. We got married and bought a house with some land in the spring of this year. Together we raise cattle, our small herd of goats, and a pack of cowdogs. What started as just a dream has quickly become my reality, and I’m thankful every day to the Lord above for leading me here and blessing me with this life.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It was definitely a challenge packing up and moving 1,200 miles from everything I’ve ever known. Starting over was exciting and intimidating, and there were times I questioned if I had made the right choice. Building a new community and navigating the ups and downs of life was hard, but trusting in God’s plan for me was key. But all of the challenges I faced ultimately led me to where I am today.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am the Retail Marketing Specialist at Kimes Ranch. I plan all events, promotions, open new stores and create marketing campaigns for all storefronts and traveling tradeshow booths. I also work closely with our Digital Content Manager to create content for all of our social media platforms, and our Stockyards Instagram account. I have years of experience managing our storefronts, so I know the ins and outs of our systems, inventory, what the customer base at each location is like, and how each store actually functions. This helps me create strategies to market each store uniquely based on needs. When we opened our Stockyards at the end of 2020, it was always supposed to be temporary. After deciding to stay, and a couple of years of helping to grow the retail department, I noticed this was a gap that I was able to fill. I made my role what it is, so I’m really proud of that.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Step out of your comfort zone and trust God’s plan! Take a leap of faith, be willing to roll with punches, and get comfortable being uncomfortable! It’s the only way we can really grow.
