I have spent over three decades mastering the art of high-level branding, merchandising, and corporate strategy. My career was built in the trenches of the traditional retail landscape, where I served as a C-Suite Company Officer driving Merchandise strategy, sales, product development, and multi-million-dollar enterprise marketing for legendary giants like JCPenney, Neiman Marcus, and elite boutique chains.

For years, my world was entirely product-driven and corporate-focused. But I’ve always believed that real leadership extends far beyond the boardroom. Parallel to my corporate career, I poured my strategic and experiential design background into community building. I am incredibly proud to serve on the Executive Board of the Dallas Arboretum, where I co-founded and chaired the annual Black Heritage Celebration for 4 years—scaling it from a passion project into a massive cultural weekend that brought over 9000 attendees to the garden to celebrate Black-owned businesses, fashion, and art.

When COVID hit, the traditional retail world changed overnight. Major corporate budgets froze, and the landscape shifted permanently. Instead of fighting a losing battle against a changing market, I saw an opportunity to pivot. I realized that while big retail was stalling, there was a massive surge of independent entrepreneurs, CEOs, and founders who desperately needed the same level of branding and media rigor that multi-million-dollar corporations used to enjoy.

This realization birthed A-List Branding and my signature framework, Personal Brand Architecture. I transitioned from moving retail products to building people. Today, I treat individuals like the powerhouse enterprises they are meant to be—crafting high-end ‘Star Personas’ and digital media hubs that instantly validate their authority and pre-sell their value. Furthermore, seeing how the changing economy has impacted minority professionals, I’ve made it a core mission to partner with non-profits, helping Black women and men reenter the workforce or successfully market themselves as premium consultants and experts.

My story isn’t just about surviving a changing industry; it’s about taking 30 years of elite enterprise experience and using it to empower individuals to own their market, command their value, and build an undeniable legacy.”

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but the challenges forced the company to grow in the right direction. When I first started, my focus was entirely on large-scale enterprise marketing, merchandising, and national sales support. I was working with product-driven retail giants like JCPenney, Neiman Marcus, and major boutique chains that needed heavy development and sales backing.

Then COVID hit, and the traditional retail landscape completely shifted overnight. The massive corporate budgets dried up, and the way products moved changed entirely. Instead of fighting a losing battle against a changing market, I decided to pivot.

I realized that while big retail was stalling, there was a massive surge of independent entrepreneurs, CEOs, and founders who needed help standing out. I took the exact same enterprise-level strategy I used for major stores and repackaged it into what I call Personal Brand Architecture. Today, through A-List Branding, we help individuals build their presence from the ground up—covering everything from core strategy and visual design to PR and social media. Navigating that transition was a massive hurdle, but it ultimately made the business much more resilient and relevant to where the market is today

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in what I call Personal Brand Architecture. Essentially, I help small entrepreneurs, CEOs, and founders build powerful, scalable digital reputations from the ground up—handling everything from core strategy and visual design to PR and social media.

What we are really known for is creating a ‘Star Persona’ for our clients. We look at their digital imprint and build a high-end, branded media hub—almost like creating a custom lifestyle magazine or a mini-documentary film entirely about them. The goal is to build a digital presence so compelling that it instantly validates their authority and demonstrates their exact value. It essentially pre-sells them, allowing our clients to secure high-level opportunities and offers without having to jump through the hoops of endless introductory meetings.

What completely sets us apart is my background. Before pivoting to work one-on-one with founders, my career was built in the trenches of high-level enterprise retail, design, and product development. For decades, I drove major marketing, merchandising, and national sales support for retail powerhouses like JCPenney, Neiman Marcus, and elite boutique chains as a C-Suite Company Officer.

When COVID hit and traditional retail shifted, I realized that modern founders needed that exact same enterprise-level rigor, just packaged for their personal names.

I’m incredibly proud of that pivot. Instead of letting a changing market slow us down, we evolved. Today, I don’t just give clients cookie-cutter social media templates. I treat individuals like the powerhouse enterprises they are, giving them the ultimate digital footprint to own their market and command premium value.”

Also with the changing environment effect on Black Women and Men, I have made it a focus to help and partner with non profits to provide needed services to help reenter the workforce or maket themselves as consultants and experts.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Showing a CEO or founder the value and importance of developing their own brand to showcase their expertise and talent. Seeing the personality and vision develop digitally to enhance their presence and validation. Spending time with my family and watching my garden bloom into my own personal botanical garden!
