Community Highlights: Meet Jazmine Reyes of Jazzy cleans

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jazmine Reyes.

Hi Jazmine, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hi everyone, I’m Jazmine Reyes, a.k.a. Jazzy G. I am 25 years old and I’m from Dallas, Texas. I started dancing when I was about seven years old (2007). I was always freestyling to songs on the radio or on YouTube. My biggest inspiration at the time was Michael Jackson and Bruno Mars. My style started from grooving, funk, and waving freestyle. My whole life, till this day, I’ve been aspiring to one day be a professional dancer or to be a backup dancer for any famous artists such as Bruno Mars, Chris Brown, Drake, etc.

Three years go by (2010), and both my parents get deported to Mexico. My two sisters and I then had to drop school here to go live with my mom in Mexico for a couple of years. My mom did everything she could in her power to take care of all three of us, but at the time, it was super dangerous for us to stay in Mexico, and we had no future there either since we were struggling to learn in school in Mexico. She decided to send us back to the United States until we were of age to travel on a bus alone. We then came back, we grew up, and now we visit my mom anytime we can. We miss her, and we wish she could be here with us. I mention this only because I know that everything that happened to me and everything that I’ve been through has humbled me in a way to always be grateful for what I have and the people that have helped me in any way. To cherish family and friends. I’ve learned to be independent, hardworking, ambitious, and to never give up. Dance, in a way, is and has been my therapy throughout all of this because when I’m dancing, my mind clears up from any negative thing, and dance is the only thing that has helped me cope and be happy. Dance is my best friend; dance is my life. The situations I’ve been through have only pushed me to become better and to strive harder and work towards things that I want in life.

In 2015, I saw a video on YouTube of America’s Got Talent, and some individuals with mysterious white masks caught my attention. “The Jabbawockeez.” They were doing cool moves like flips, tricks, illusions, groovy dance, and a style that I’d never seen before. They immediately became my inspiration. I wanted to learn those moves. I tried learning some moves, but it didn’t last very long until I stopped trying to learn it. I went back to my usual freestyling until 8 years later, it crossed my path again, but this time I took it seriously. I wanted to learn and was very determined.

January 2023 was the year I started learning in the garage watching YouTube videos. I practiced and pushed myself every single day. Day by day, I was feeling motivated to keep pushing. My hard work, determination to learn, and passion for it got me to travel for competitions such as Red Bull BC One, being a part of an NBA dance team, “The Dallas Mavericks Breakers.” I am now 3 years into breaking, and breaking got me the opportunity to be in several dance shoots, photo shoots, Quinceañeras and even got the opportunity to be a dance teacher at “Fenton’s Dance Factory” in Plano, TX, and several other pop-up workshops in Texas! I really believe that when God wants to make you successful, He will first take away your comfort. He will test your patience. He will isolate you. He will challenge your faith. Because before He provides the life you dream of, He builds the version of you that can handle it. I’m super grateful for what God has blessed me with and without these ups and downs I wouldn’t be the person I am today.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Breaking (or breakdance) is super physically demanding, so a minor struggle for me is definitely bruising from all the powerful moves. Also, it takes a ton of practice to get the coordination, strength and balance for things like freezes and power moves. Plus, finding your own unique style while still respecting the foundations of the dance can be a real challenge for some but natural for others.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Besides dancing, I’ve always wanted to be a business woman or own my own company! At an early age, I’d been working under someone else, and I didn’t like the idea of working more hours in a day than having time to do the things you love. In 2025, when the NBA Dallas Mavericks season was nearing at its end, I felt a little more pressure to think about what kind of business I wanted to start before the season concluded. I wrote down all kinds of business ideas I wanted to pursue, but then I had to think about what one thing I would never be bored of and genuinely enjoy doing. I loved cleaning and organizing, so I gave that a shot. On November 17, 2025, I had my first apartment cleaning! From there, it was all about marketing, spreading the word, and finding the right people. So far, I’ve built loyal clientele that I’m super blessed to have because they’ve been there since day one. They helped build my experience, and they’ve seen how I work and believed in my work. They stayed consistent with me, and I appreciate them for trusting the process. It is a privilege to walk into someone’s home and have the trust to help them walk into their now clean, safe space with no shame or critique of the home’s condition, and walk out with a five-star rating! Now that I have some time doing this and more experience, I have created my business page on Instagram where more people can reach me @Jazzy_Cleans, engage with my posts, and see my work. If you’re interested in knowing more or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to send me a message and book your next cleaning service with me!”

How do you define success?
Success isn’t just about the outcome, but the journey and the impact. It’s about setting meaningful goals that align with your values, pushing past challenges, and learning from failures along the way. True success often involves a sense of purpose, contributing positively to others, and finding a balance that brings genuine contentment and well-being. It’s a very personal definition, unique to each individual.
