Today we’d like to introduce you to Valeria.
Hi Valeria, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Beauty has always been my passion, and I’ve dedicated my career to helping people look and feel their best.
In high school I joined a cosmetology program where I was able to graduate with my cosmetology license. I would go to school every day with a full glam.
I worked as a beauty advisor for 3 years. I was able to learn so many skills and that was just the beginning.
I’ve been with Sephora for over 8 years, where I’ve grown from a Beauty Advisor into a Store Manager—a role I’ve held for nearly 5 years. Throughout my career, I’ve developed expertise in makeup artistry, skincare, client education, leadership, and creating exceptional customer experiences. During all this time I was working as a traveling makeup artist for DFW. It helped me cultivate my skills.
Working with thousands of clients has taught me that beauty is never one-size-fits-all. Every person deserves a personalized experience that enhances their unique features and builds confidence. That’s what inspired me to start my own makeup business.
My goal is to create customized looks that make every client feel beautiful, confident, and empowered, whether it’s for a wedding, special event, photoshoot, or everyday glam. I look forward to continuing to grow my artistry while providing luxury service and building lasting relationships with every client I have the privilege to work with.
My experience has allowed me to work with thousands of clients, each with unique beauty goals and styles. Those experiences inspired me to launch my own makeup business, where I can combine my artistry, industry expertise, and personalized approach to help clients look and feel their absolute best. Whether it’s soft glam, full glam, bridal, or a special event, my goal is to create a luxurious experience that leaves every client feeling confident, beautiful, and empowered.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve experienced setbacks while building my beauty brand, including navigating business growth during the pandemic and adapting to major shifts in client behavior and digital engagement. I also had to rebuild my social media presence after losing my original platform, which strengthened my understanding of brand resilience, consistency, and audience rebuilding in a competitive beauty market.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a traveling makeup artist in the DFW Area. I specialize in elevated beauty artistry—creating customized, skin-enhancing makeup looks that feel both polished and natural. With a background in cosmetology and years of experience in the beauty industry, I combine professional artistry with expert product knowledge to deliver looks that are tailored, wearable, and confidence-building.
I’m most proud of the moment I see a client’s confidence come to life when they look in the mirror and truly feel like the best version of themselves. That feeling is what has always driven my passion for beauty.
I’m also proud of the journey I’ve taken to get here. I built my career from the ground up in the beauty industry, starting as a Beauty Advisor and growing into a Sephora Store Manager. That experience gave me a deep understanding of beauty trends, client behavior, and what it takes to lead in a high-performance environment.
Along the way, I’ve developed strong expertise in makeup artistry across all skin types, skin tones, and ages. More than anything, I’ve learned how to connect technical skill with real client needs—so every look is not just about makeup, but about confidence, identity, and transformation.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that true success in beauty is built on consistency, adaptability, and understanding people on a deeper level. Skills can be taught, but the ability to stay grounded, evolve, and continue showing up—especially through challenges—is what truly shapes long-term success.
