Hi Peter, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
As a 2022 Rockwall Heath HS school graduate, I was working a local part time job when I was approached about joining a garage door company to assist the owner with jobs. I quickly learned to love the business! Most people don’t call unless there is an immediate need and every house and door present unique challenges, whether it be repair or new installation. There are many ways to open a business whether it is from the ground up or the franchise route. Ultimately we chose Access Garage Doors because of their support network and marketing. I’m proud to say that mine is the first Access Garage Doors franchise in Texas!
While our name is Access Garage Doors of Rockwall, I travel wherever I’m needed. I’ve worked in Rockwall County, as well as Collin, Hunt, Kaufman, Tarrant, Ellis and Henderson counties.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As with most businesses, getting your name out when there are other established competitors can be a challenge. My family & friends have been very supportive and referred me as often as possible which allows me to grow my customer base and get even more referrals.
Hiring a local marketing company, Social Lab Marketing, has been a great decision. Knowledge of the area and market needs plus utilizing social media has helped me gain additional exposure and led to the growth of my business. Online reviews can really help a small business like mine get a larger following. People like to see positive reviews before they hire someone so I encourage clients to complete those reviews!
Another challenge is finding time to spend with my fiance and son. Starting a business requires being available when the need arises and I’m fortunate that they understand that.

We at Access Garage Doors of Rockwall use all types of overhead doors through the many collections our suppliers have to offer. We also do garage door openers, garage door screens, and motorized patio screens!
