Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyndrial Magee.
Hi Kyndrial, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
It all started when I was a junior in high school. Back then, I was incredibly insecure and still trying to figure out who I was. Fashion became more than just clothes, it became my way of expressing myself when I didn’t always have the words. It gave me the confidence to step outside of my comfort zone, embrace my individuality, and slowly learn to love myself for who I truly am.
That journey inspired me to create Fashionable Candy, a space where young girls and women like me could feel seen, celebrated, and free to express themselves through creativity. Whether it’s fashion, visual art, dance, music, or any other form of self-expression, I wanted it to be a place that reminds people that who they are is enough.
Fast forward to today, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with women from all over the world by simply sharing my love for fashion and the things that inspire me. One of the most rewarding parts of this journey has been hearing how my content has encouraged others to discover their own personal style, embrace who they are, and confidently pursue the dreams that have been placed on their hearts. Knowing that my passions have inspired someone else to believe in themselves is something I’ll never take for granted.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have definitely been days when it’s been difficult. There are moments when you pour your heart into creating something, whether it’s a video, a photo, a song, or a piece of art, and it feels like no one sees it. It can be discouraging when you spend hours creating something you’re proud of, only for it to not reach your audience or even new people. Then there are the voices around you telling you that maybe you should give up or pursue something more “real.”
But if there’s one thing this journey has taught me, it’s that if something genuinely brings you joy and you’re passionate about it, don’t give up on it.
You never truly know who’s watching. Some of the biggest opportunities in my life came when I least expected them. I’ve had brands like Disney and more that I admired reach out to collaborate with me, I’ve been able to work with companies through my content, travel because of the community I’ve built, and even receive opportunities through my music. None of those moments happened overnight, and none of them would have happened if I had quit when things felt slow.
I’ve learned that success isn’t always measured by numbers. It’s measured by impact. If one person feels inspired to embrace their own style, chase a dream they’ve been afraid of, or simply become more confident because they saw me doing the same, then that’s worth more than any number on a screen.
So don’t focus on who’s not supporting you or compare your journey to someone else’s. Remember why you started in the first place. Hold onto that reason, keep creating, and trust that the right people will find what you’re making exactly when they’re meant to.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a content creator, artist, actress, and creative storyteller who loves encouraging people to embrace who they are through creativity. I create fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and travel content centered around self-expression, while also pursuing my passion for music and acting. No matter the medium, my goal has always been the same: to create things that make people feel inspired to dream bigger, express themselves freely, and believe that they can become the person they’ve always envisioned.
Fashion was the first art form that gave me the confidence to truly be myself, and it eventually grew into a platform where I could connect with women from all over the world. Through my content, I’ve been able to collaborate with brands I genuinely love, share experiences from places that have inspired me , like Paris , and build a community around authenticity, creativity, and finding beauty in everyday life.
Music has become another extension of who I am. It’s given me a way to tell stories and express emotions that sometimes can’t be captured in a photo or video. Every song I create is another piece of my heart, and I’m excited to continue growing as an artist and sharing that journey with others.
Acting has also been a dream of mine for many years. I’m grateful to have appeared in two Disney plus films, Crater and The Crossover, and those experiences only deepened my love for storytelling and reminded me why I fell in love with performing in the first place.
What I’m most proud of isn’t just one accomplishment, it’s having the courage to pursue every dream I’ve ever said I wanted to pursue. There were so many moments where I felt nervous, uncertain, or even a little silly putting myself out there, but I chose to do it anyway. Whether it was posting my first video, releasing music, auditioning for acting roles, or reaching out to brands, every step required faith, persistence, and believing in myself before anyone else did. Looking back, I’m proud that I never let fear have the final say.
I think what sets me apart is that I don’t see creativity as something that fits into one box. I love exploring different forms of art because each one tells a story in its own way. Whether I’m creating content, writing music, acting, or putting together an outfit, I’m always creating from a place of authenticity. More than anything, I want people to leave my page feeling inspired, not to be more like me, but to become more of who they were created to be. If my journey encourages even one person to stop hiding their gifts and start chasing the life they’ve been dreaming about, then I’ve accomplished exactly what I set out to do.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
One of the biggest sources of inspiration in my life is simply surrounding myself with art and spending time in nature.
Whenever I visit a museum, watch a film, listen to music, or see how another artist expresses themselves, it inspires me to explore new ways of expressing my own creativity. I think there’s something so beautiful about seeing the world through someone else’s perspective.
Nature is another one of my greatest inspirations because, to me, the greatest artist of all is God. Whether I’m walking through a garden, sitting beneath the trees, watching a sunset, or simply paying attention to the little details around me, I’m constantly reminded of His creativity. It’s incredibly grounding, and some of my best ideas come from slowing down and observing the beauty He’s created.
As far as resources go, I also love using Pinterest to collect inspiration for fashion, photography, interiors, and creative projects. Also, journaling has become one of my favorite creative practices because it helps me process ideas and reflect. I also enjoy reading books that encourage personal growth and strengthen my faith, because I believe creativity flourishes when you’re continuing to grow as a person.
At the end of the day, I think inspiration is everywhere if you’re willing to slow down enough to notice it. That’s something I try to carry with me in both my work and everyday life.
