Today we’d like to introduce you to Ari Disraeli.
Hi Ari, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been DJing for over 13 years all throughout the DFW and always loved the nightlife/party planning business. Created my business Top Notch Shows about 6 years ago to started throwing parties and promoting events all throughout Dallas. I also wanted to start this business because I went through the ups and downs of being a local DJ and wanted to be the mentor for the new DJs entering the scene.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely hasn’t been smooth but exciting I would say. There has been plenty of times events or shows have not gone the way I wanted them to but I view it as a learning experience no matter the outcome. I’ve DJed longer than throwing events but I feel like everyday is a day to learn something new.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a local Dallas DJ and owner of Top Notch Shows which is an events company throwing all types of events throughout the city. Crybaby Club is my newest event I start where we play Emo Rap and Underground Rap music at live concert venues. I started it as just a fun theme night and woke up to it blowing up over night. Only been throwing them for almost a year but excited for the future with it moving forward. I also host weekly’s called Top Notch Tuesdays and Wub Wednesdays in Dallas. TNT is a Tuesdays currently at Select Start where I host and put on local House DJs and give them an opportunity to showcase their craft and network with eachother. Wub Wednesdays is the same concept but on a Wednesday and it’s Bass music and it’s at Shot Topic in Deep Ellum. I also throw monthly events and theme nights like Pizza House Party, TCG Rave, and whatever comes to mind at the time. Crybaby Club however now has grown to be my main focus within the business and will continue to grow it to other cities.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I wouldn’t say I’ve taken much risk when it comes to DJing because I just love doing it. However owning my business there has been a lot of risk but also reward. I feel like if there is no risk then you don’t really want to be successful.
