Exploring Life & Business with Maddi Kibler of Glow ‘n’ Grow Therapy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maddi Kibler.

Hi Maddi, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey to becoming a speech language pathologist and owner of Glow ‘n’ Grow Therapy actually began in the second grade classroom. Before earning my master’s degree, I spent eight years as an elementary educator and reading interventionist. During those eight years, I saw firsthand the impact that communication skills have on every part of a child’s life. I loved teaching, but I wanted to make an even deeper impact by helping children develop the foundational communication skills that support lifelong success, in and out of the classroom.

I had always dreamt of creating a practice that felt more personal and relationship-centered, something that was difficult to provide in a typical clinic or school setting. That is when I founded Glow ‘n’ Grow Therapy, a boutique mobile pediatric speech therapy practice serving families in their homes, daycares, and preschools throughout Tarrant County.

My goal was to make therapy convenient for families while providing individualized, play-based care that empowers both children and their caregivers.

Today, I specialize in working with toddlers through elementary-aged children with speech, language, literacy, and social communication needs.

I aspire to give every child a voice and use their “glows” to help them “grow”.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Building a business from the ground up has been an incredibly rewarding experience, but it isn’t always sunshine and rainbows.

I started Glow ‘n’ Grow Therapy while working full time as an SLP in the public schools. That meant I was spending all my after hours and weekends building and growing the business. I had to make sacrifices in many aspects of my life to obtain my goal of building a successful practice while keeping my mission and vision at the forefront of everything I did.

One of the biggest challenges has been wearing so many hats. As a business owner, you’re not just the speech therapist. You’re also the marketer, accountant, scheduler, customer service representative, and CEO. Learning those skills has stretched me in ways graduate school never prepared me for, but it’s also helped me grow tremendously.

Most recently, I’ve been navigating the beautiful challenge of becoming a new mom while running a growing practice. Interestingly enough, motherhood has made me a better clinician. I have an even deeper appreciation for the joys and challenges parents experience every day, and that perspective has strengthened the way I support the families I work with.

Even though I exchanged my 9-5 job to work 24/7, I wouldn’t change it for the world. The impact that Glow ‘n’ Grow has had on the community and the families I have been so blessed to serve is worth every late night and sacrifice if it means I’m providing that relationship-centered, intentional, life-changing care.

As you know, we’re big fans of Glow ‘n’ Grow Therapy. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Glow ‘n’ Grow Therapy was created because I wanted families to have a different kind of speech therapy experience. One that feels personal, supportive, and centered around the whole child instead of feeling like just another appointment.

I’m a mobile pediatric speech language pathologist, which means I meet children where they are most comfortable, whether that’s at home, daycare, or preschool. Those familiar environments allow me to see how children naturally communicate and help families use strategies that fit into everyday life.

One thing that makes Glow ‘n’ Grow different is that we’re intentionally small so I can truly get to know each child and family. Instead of rushing from one session to the next, I have the time to thoughtfully plan, collaborate with parents, and adjust therapy as children grow. My families are never just another name on my schedule. They become relationships that I genuinely value.

If you asked me what I’m most proud of, it would be the relationships we’ve built with families. Parents invite me into their homes, trust me with their children, celebrate milestones with me, and let me walk alongside them during such an important season of their lives. That trust means everything to me.

At the end of the day, I want every family who interacts with Glow ‘n’ Grow Therapy to feel seen, supported, and encouraged. My goal is to help children find their voice while giving parents the knowledge and confidence to help them grow.

Any big plans?
One thing I’m especially excited about is launching our caregiver and me classes this fall. I’ve spent countless months researching, becoming certified, planning the curriculum, and fine tuning every detail because I wanted these classes to be something truly special for families. The classes are based on the KIDnection Method, an evidence based program that teaches parents how to naturally support their child’s communication through play, everyday routines, songs, books, and meaningful interactions. I’m proud to be the only speech language pathologist in the area currently offering caregiver and me classes built on the KIDnection Method. My hope is that families leave each class not only having fun with their child, but also feeling confident knowing exactly how to support communication at home. Plus, they’ll hopefully leave with some new, lifelong friendships!
