Rising Stars: Meet Anna Moses

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Moses.

Hi Anna, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey into art began about five years ago out of sheer necessity. At the time, I was running a highly successful estate agency. While it was thriving, the pressure was unbelievable. Being an idealist, I constantly tried to make everything perfect and please everyone, working day and night until my body finally signaled that it couldn’t carry on that way.
In search of an escape, I turned to painting. The studio became a space that was entirely my own—no people, no expectations, just me and a canvas expressing what I felt inside. I began experimenting with different mediums and taking online courses to learn techniques that intrigued me. I quickly fell in love with texture and gold leaf, which is where my heart truly settled. Instead of replicating real places, I found myself creating landscapes that represent a state of mind—a place where I can dive deep into my own thoughts and translate them onto the canvas.
Initially, I only shared my work with friends, guests, and on social media. The feedback was incredible. After selling several pieces, taking on commissions, and realizing there was a genuine connection to my work, I thought, ‘Maybe this is what I am truly meant to do.’
Today, I am a full-time artist. I collaborate with galleries, recently had my first solo exhibition this past March, and have participated in both art fairs and local auction exhibitions where my work successfully sold. It’s been an amazing transition from a world of high stress to a world of creative fulfillment.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I wouldn’t say it’s been a rough road, but the biggest obstacle has definitely been an internal one: finding the courage to show my work.
As artists, we often aim for incredibly high standards, and there’s a constant temptation to wait until a piece feels ‘perfect’ before sharing it with the world. But I realized that if I kept waiting for that elusive moment of perfection, that time might never come. Overcoming my own hesitation, self-doubt, and the vulnerability of putting my art out there has been the real journey.
Aside from that internal hurdle, the path has been wonderfully smooth. I am incredibly fortunate to have the unwavering support of my family, which has made all the difference. Ultimately, the biggest challenge hasn’t been the external art world, but rather mastering my own doubts and allowing my work to be seen.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in large-scale landscapes and skyscapes that act as a reflection of an inner state of mind. My signature style is defined by a heavy use of rich texture and luminescent gold reflections, which catch the light and give the pieces a living, shifting quality. Rather than painting specific geographical locations, I create atmospheric spaces where viewers can lose themselves and look inward.
My proudest moment so far has absolutely been my solo exhibition this past March. Standing in that huge gallery space, seeing my work covering every single wall, and watching people arrive and truly relate to what I had created was an unforgettable feeling.
What sets me apart, and what I consider my biggest success, is that deep emotional connection. The ultimate compliment for me as an artist is when someone connects with a piece so deeply that they want to take it home and make it a permanent part of their life. Knowing that my inner expressions can bring peace or resonance to someone else’s personal space is incredibly fulfilling.

How do you think about luck?
I don’t think much about luck, to be honest. More than anything, I just feel an immense amount of gratitude for how my life has unfolded.
I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and that I am exactly where I am meant to be, at the right time. The hardships I faced in the past guided me to the canvas, and the wonderful opportunities I have now—like the solo exhibition and working with galleries—are a reflection of that perfect timing. It’s less about luck and more about being in flow with my true purpose.
