Today we’d like to introduce you to Meghan.
Meghan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
When I was a teenager, I fell in love with styling hair. I was always the designated “Braider” on all sports teams I was apart of, and later in high school I began marketing that I would do Prom and Homecoming Hair for a small price (I think I literally charged like $25!)
The last two years of high school I was booked fully for Prom, and it was then I realized that I could really do this as an adult full time
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would say, the road has been pretty smooth with a few rocks along the way!
I entered the wedding industry in Spring 2016, and have been here ever since.
I have done both contract work and work for myself since then.
I quit my corporate job this past January to really put my all into my wedding business, and I have seen the fruits of my time being my own already.
Social Media has never been a strength of mine, so my business has mainly been built from referrals!
All in all, I am very grateful to all the artists who have referred me throughout the years, and kept me booked!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a wedding hairstylist specializing in timeless, romantic styles—soft updos and effortless, natural-looking down styles that feel elevated but still like the bride.
I would say I’m known not only for maintaining a professional, calm presence on wedding mornings and offering thoughtful, experienced guidance to my brides, but also for creating a warm and relaxed environment where clients feel completely at ease—almost like I’m just another friend in the room.
What sets me apart is the way I prioritize how each client feels in my chair. While the wedding day is centered around the bride, I believe my role goes beyond hairstyling. I see it as an opportunity to instill confidence, encourage, and genuinely care for each person I work with. My goal is always for my clients to leave not only feeling beautiful on the outside, but also reminded of their own natural beauty and confidence from within.
What I’m most proud of is the trust my brides place in me on one of the most meaningful days of their lives, and the relationships that often continue long after the wedding day itself.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
A few businesses that have consistently kept me busy and supported my growth over the years include @JMGlamour and @MM&Co (Maitee Miles). I’m very grateful for the opportunities and trust they’ve extended to me throughout my career.
In terms of mentorship, a big influence in my hairstyling journey has been Andrea Gilliland of @TousledBeauty. Her guidance and example have played a meaningful role in shaping both my technical skills and my approach to bridal styling.
More recently, I’ve begun expanding my skill set into makeup and into the world of Desi and Southeast Asian weddings under the mentorship of Alexandria Angel @Mspaintedlady. Alex has invested a great deal of time and energy into teaching me and has opened the door for me to grow into a new area of artistry that I’m very excited about.
On a personal level, my biggest supporter and cheerleader has always been my husband, Nicholas. From the very beginning of my career, he has encouraged me to pursue growth, supported every season of my business, and continues to be the person who celebrates my wins and pushes me toward new goals.
