Today we’d like to introduce you to Olivia Green.
Olivia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m still a young creative, and honestly, I’m still figuring life out as it unfolds. But one thing I know for sure is that no matter where my story goes or how it ends, it will always begin with God. He is at the center of everything I do, and He’s the foundation of both my personal life and my creative journey.
I grew up surrounded by creativity in so many forms. My first love was dance, and I’ve been dancing for most of my life. I also loved art and drawing, got involved in performance arts at church through choir and singing, and even did musical theatre in middle school. Creativity has always been a part of me. It just showed up in different ways throughout different seasons of my life.
The form of creativity I express most now is beauty, and that really started when I was little. I grew up playing in my mom’s makeup collection and secretly using her skincare and cosmetics because I loved the feeling of getting ready and taking time for myself to feel confident and put together (sorry Mom, lol). But beauty has genuinely been a passion of mine since elementary school, and that love has stayed with me ever since.
Now at 20 years old, I’m a full-time marketing student at Hofstra University, and also a content creator who is deeply passionate about beauty. Through my content pages, I blend beauty, lifestyle, and faith. More specifically, I create around makeup, skincare, life as a college student and young woman in her 20s, and my faith, because Christ is my foundation in everything I do. I always try to show up authentically and bring my full personality on screen, because I never want what I create to feel forced or disconnected from who I really am.
I first started content creation when one day, a good friend encouraged me in a deli near my church; and from there, the motivation just kept growing. I started learning from other creators, some of whom are now mutuals/people who genuinely inspire me. There’s one thing I’ve really embraced about this journey: you grow through doing, and you get better through consistency.
In just about a year of content creation, I’ve already had the opportunity to receive gifts, work with brands, and secure paid collaborations. Some brands consist of KISS New York, Good Molecules, Thayers, and other K-beauty makeup and skincare brands. Seeing my portfolio grow has been incredibly rewarding, and I’m truly grateful for every opportunity that has come my way.
As I’ve become more consistent in building my platform and strengthening my personal brand, that growth has opened doors to other parts of my creative and professional journey. Right now, I’m in a season of learning, building, and discovering how to merge my passion for beauty and creativity with my future in marketing. I’ve made it a priority to take full advantage of the opportunities in front of me, both at my university and beyond, by striving for academic excellence while gaining real-world experience that continues to shape me into the professional and creative I aspire to become.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Regardless of what the journey is, there will always be some obstacles in the road (a really bumpy road). I thank God that my road has been smooth thus far, but some of my challenges and struggles have come from within.
There would be doubt, inconsistency, laziness, isolation, and being too hard on myself. Those are the obstacles that can hinder my path to greatness. It’s not every day that you wake up feeling motivated to show up, but discipline is a muscle I’ve had to learn to strengthen. I think that comes from being raised in a strong, faith-based Caribbean household, and of course, from the life experiences that have shaped me along the way.
There are also struggles with feeling embarrassed, not good enough, or ashamed of things I’m not proud of. But my encouragement to myself, and to anyone reading this, is that there is always room for growth. Living in New York, you get used to seeing speed bumps everywhere, and I’ve realized life has them too. I used to rush over mine without paying attention, only to feel the impact later. Now, I’m learning that recognizing those bumps and slowing down doesn’t stop my progress, it protects it. There is mercy every morning, new grace, and a new chance to keep moving forward.
I feel blessed knowing that my story isn’t over and I still have the motivation to continue. Life goes on, and because of that, there is always a chance for you to keep going as well.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Professionally, I’m a content creator (beauty, lifestyle, and faith-based) and a full-time marketing student at Hofstra University. Presently, I’m in a season where both parts of my life are growing alongside each other.
My work as a creator is centered around makeup and skincare, but it also reflects my life as a young woman in her 20s, a college student, and a woman of faith. I create content that feels personal, visually intentional, and authentic to who I am. I love showcasing beauty in a way that feels both inspiring and real, whether that’s through trying products, creating UGC, sharing my routines, or simply showing the joy and confidence that beauty can bring. My faith is a huge part of my identity, so naturally it shows up in the way I live, create, and connect with people.
I think what I specialize in most is blending beauty with personality, storytelling, and brand energy. I care just as much about how something feels as I do about how it looks. I love capturing the details, the mood, the emotion, and the intention behind a product, along with the message it’s meant to convey. Whether I’m creating for my own platform or partnering with a brand, my goal is always to produce content that feels genuine, engaging, and authentic to who I am.
What I’m most proud of is how much I’ve been able to build in such a short amount of time. In just about a year of content creation, I’ve had the opportunity to work with well-known brands, which has been incredibly rewarding as someone who has genuinely loved beauty from the very beginning. For instance, I went from using Thayers in my skincare routine in middle school to earning a spot in their Ambassador Program. You can’t tell me that isn’t full circle!
I’m also proud of the opportunities that have allowed me to grow professionally beyond content creation, including being selected for the Sophomore L’Oréal USA Fellowship, a professional development program with the company itself that has allowed me to bridge beauty with business. That experience has been especially meaningful to me because it reflects both my passion for beauty and my long-term interest in the marketing and business side of the industry.
I’m also proud that I’ve been able to pursue creativity while taking my education and professional development seriously. I’m constantly learning how to bridge the gap between being creative and being strategic, which is why marketing feels like such a natural fit for me. What sets me apart is that everything I create is rooted in who I actually am. My content isn’t separated from my values, my personality, or my faith. I’m not creating just to follow trends. I create from a place of passion, intention, and authenticity because I genuinely care about beauty, storytelling, and meaningful connection. I’m still growing, still learning, and still building, but I believe that willingness to grow is part of what makes both my journey and my work meaningful.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I think something that might surprise people is that beauty wasn’t actually my first creative outlet. A lot of people know me now for my passion for it, but I grew up creative in so many other ways first. Dance was my first love, and I’ve been dancing all my life, even now. I spent four years in my high school dance program and was a part of a dance company before the Pandemic. It’s something I really enjoy doing, but I waver in confidence. I also loved drawing as a kid, I am involved in choir and performance arts at my church, and I even did musical theatre in middle school (Broadway Jr. – The Lion King & Hairspray).
So while beauty is the creative lane I’m most known for now, creativity has always been a part of me in different forms. I think all those experiences have shaped how I express myself today, even in the content I create now.
