Exploring Life & Business with David De Prez of Studio Pilates International North Plano and West Plano

Today we’d like to introduce you to David De Prez.

Hi David, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My background is actually heavily rooted in the corporate world. I spent 16 years with Yum! Brands, eventually serving as Vice President of Operations for Yum Global, where I oversaw Global Operations and Technology initiatives. My wife and business partner, Aly, brings an equally rigorous background; she is a chartered accountant who spent 14 years in financial and strategic consulting at Deloitte. Despite our corporate success, we wanted to build something of our own that directly impacted our local community’s health and wellness. We formed Adventure Ready Fitness LLC and decided to bring the Studio Pilates International franchise to Texas.

We launched our first studio, North Plano, on November 8th, 2025. Just recently, on May 16th, 2026, we proudly opened the doors to our second location in West Plano. Blending our large-scale operational experience with a deeply personal, boutique fitness environment has been an incredibly rewarding transition.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest hurdles has been navigating the realities of commercial real estate and construction costs. We have had to lean heavily into value engineering and data-driven decision-making. We are currently hyper-focused on making North Plano and West Plano absolute triumphs while building a strong foundation for future growth.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What sets Studio Pilates International apart is our approach to coaching. In a typical group fitness class, the instructor is often stuck at the front of the room demonstrating the moves. Because our digital screens handle the class flow, our instructors are completely freed up to coach you during every single exercise. They are constantly moving throughout the studio, physically adjusting your form, providing personalized modifications, and ensuring you are maximizing your effort safely.

Every 40-minute workout at Studio Pilates International is crafted by physical therapists, meaning you get a biomechanically safe, highly effective workout with absolute consistency – no matter what day you come in or which instructor is leading the room. That powerful combination of science-backed programming and constant, hands-on coaching helps our clients improve their strength and mobility while achieving their fitness goals faster.

Beyond our classes, we also create opportunities for our community to connect through initiatives like our “Amplify” challenges and Move Club, where we organize group walks, running clubs, and partner with local wellness experts to create a more holistic fitness experience. While our technology and flexible “packs only” membership model are major differentiators, what truly sets us apart is the community we’ve built and how personally invested we are in it. In boutique fitness, it’s common to see hands-off or absentee owners, but Aly and I are in the trenches every day.

During our first six months of business, the two of us personally taught more than 300 classes combined. We also regularly take classes alongside our clients and frequently work the reception desk so we can greet people by name as they walk through the door. We don’t just own the business – we are active, daily participants in it. Along with the incredible leadership and instructor team we’ve built, that personal involvement creates a warm, family-like environment that can’t be manufactured from behind a corporate desk. Our clients know us, we know their goals, and we’re all invested in one another’s success. That’s what we’re most proud of.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
While we are hyper-focused on our local Plano community right now, Aly and I are actually massive globetrotters. Between the two of us, we have visited over 50 countries and 25 US states! We have a deep love for traveling, exploring new cultures, and meeting people from all walks of life. Interestingly, we’ve found that this passion for global travel is a massive help when it comes to local community building. Because we’ve experienced so many different cultures, we naturally love learning about our clients’ backgrounds. Swapping travel stories and hearing about where our customers are originally from – or where they are heading on their next vacation – is one of our absolute favorite ways to connect before and after class.

I want readers to know that if they have ever been curious about reformer Pilates, this is the safest and most supportive place to start. Every class can be scaled to your specific fitness level, and our instructors are there to hold your hand through the entire process. We always have Intro Packs available for new clients, which is the perfect, low-pressure way to come see the studio and try the workout for yourself.
