The editorial team has a special attachment to our new series, The Trailblazers: Rewriting the Narrative, because so many of us feel that media portrayals of women have been too one dimensional. I have always been creative but struggled to find my true passion. I one joked that I was a new craft every year, from cake decorating, to glass painting, crochet and needlework. I then branched into jewelry and actually owned an artistic rubber stamp store in Jacksonville Beach Florida for several years. The road has indeed been bumpy. However, I think of it as roller coaster you’re deathly afraid of, and once you ride it and get that rush of adrenaline, you realize it’s pretty fun.
