Meet Bevy Jae, Social Media Influencer

Bevy, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I often tell people I live like a nomad. Moving from my hometown Milwaukee, WI to Gary, Indiana all the way down to Shreveport, Louisiana and now, Dallas, TX is where I am calling home for now, lol. It’s going on 2 years and I am loving every bit of it.

Let’s talk about my childhood, growing up for me was a complete disaster losing my dad at the age of five and with my mother being on drugs I encountered a lot of hurt, neglect, and shame. That pain would follow me and destroyed my childhood. Ask me about birthdays or holidays family vacations, etc… nope, nada!

Being bullied and mistreated became a norm for me. For years, I saw myself as another pretty face with silent tears. I was a big baby, chunky toddler, fat kid, overweight teen and now, an obese woman. Names really did hurt me but I used that pain and seen a need to help other plus women like myself and created a plus size sisterhood in 2009. My goal, in general, is to break the stereotype of plus size women. Society has it all wrong until they have walked a mile my size 11 wide shoes don’t speak on it.

You can find me working for one of the top plus size clothing brands Ashley Stewart the Wheatland location as the Store Manager. Also, to add the icing on the cake I am makeup artist and stylist.

I use my social media as my platform because of my love for fashion, beauty, and life. I will continue to empower women to help build their self-confidence and self-worth all through these avenues because there is a need for it and I will do my part.

I am so here for body positivity!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My biggest struggle like anyone who is striving for greatness was finding my purpose in life and finding me.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I hate this part, lol, when describing what I do because I do it all. My purpose is to inspire women but my soft spot is plus size women. But you can say I am an Influencer.

I inspire to change lives I love to get women out their comfort zones. I get messages all the time from women saying how I inspire them to be bold and or they wish they had my confidence. My key to all of this is you have to detox your mind first. In order to start something new, your mind has to be in the right place to receive the overflow of goodness that’s coming in.

What sets me part… I don’t try to keep up with the Joneses. I own my flaws, I have a true passion to help others, I stopped making excuses and more importantly, I don’t hide the fact that u love myself.

What were you like growing up?
Very painful because I was helpless. Being bullied because I didn’t have the latest clothes and not to mention I was called fat and ugly.

I found my love of fashion and beauty through this. I loved magazines I could escape on every page because I so wanted to be these women. So, I thought, lol!
