Meet Nicole Monroe of No Pretty Workouts in Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Monroe.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Nicole. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
As a young girl,I was very active in sports. I played volleyball, basketball, and ran track. Ultimately, I found my true passion in Track & Field and continued to pursue it into my collegiate years. Growing up in a military family, I often moved around, so I was never rooted in one city/state, until I moved to Houston. While living in Houston, attending college, I joined the Army National Guard and served 8 years. After completing my years in the Army, I realized I wanted to continue pursuing my fitness career, so I got certified to be a physical trainer through NASM. I started my brand “No Pretty Workouts” back in January of 2018. My vision is to bring awareness to the women who are in this industry or who is beginning to start their fitness journey, that it is perfectly fine and acceptable to sweat and give your all in your workouts. Too many women are afraid to show their gritty side in the gym, maybe because of their image or self-confidence. I want to inspire women with my work ethic and show them that it is ok to sweat them edges and get your workout clothes dirty. Real work. Real pain. Real results!

Has it been a smooth road?
The road to my success has not been easy. 2017 was definitely the most challenging year for me. I was diagnosed with depression, along with having multiple suicide attempts. What brought me to my sanity was my faith and knowing that my purpose was bigger than me.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with No Pretty Workouts – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I have an online fitness business where I train over 500 women worldwide. I also have a brand called “No Pretty Workouts” where it brings awareness to women to get gritty and sweat in the gym. Real work. Real Sweat. Real pain. Real results. I specialize in women’s health, core training, strength & Conditioning, and H.I.IT (High-Intensity Interval Training. I’m known for my hardcore workouts that my trainer, Jerome’s Gym, puts us through. No one in the metro flex trains like us. I’m also a CrossFit competitor. I competed in my first competition in December of 2017 and won 1st place with my group.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I like the different food options and they have here. I’m a HUGE food lover and can eat anything all day. I dislike Dallas because it’s not Houston… what can I say… I will forever be a Houston girl.
