Today we’d like to introduce you to Shayla Bailey.
Shayla – please share your story with us.
A&S began in 2015 as an idea sparked by Arthur Rodgers and myself. Arthur began detailing vehicles in college, working out of his apartment complex he realized his customers were intrigued at the simplicity and convenience of getting their cars cleaned while they attended school and events on campus. I did not have experience detailing vehicles until I met Arthur but we both shared a common love and passion for cars and wanted to provide a convenient service to those who shared that same love of their vehicles. We were also motivated by the drive to leave a legacy for our daughter and teach her business through her actions. We understood that life could get hectic so we launched out of West Dallas… two years later we have added on two new partners/employees Alex and Joe Miller and have relaunched in the Collin county/Plano area. We still service the greater Dallas area.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a learning process throughout. At one point, we lost our drive because we were not receiving calls as quickly as we thought. We also had a lot to learn about beginning and maintaining a business and suspended services for a time.
A&S Mobile Detailing and Power-Wash Service – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
What automatically sets us apart is our adaptability and mobility. We are for the working man and women who don’t have the time to wait in line. We will come anywhere, any time. We also employee a patented technology that allows us to work in the dark :). We provide pressure-washing services also which opens us up to opportunities outside of vehicles. Our specialty is in Automotive, Aerial and Marine washes/details.
I am proud of our ambition as owners/operators. Everyone is on the same page and work in sync. We are more than just a business but we are a family and we share that with our customers.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Coming back from a failure, learning valuable lessons, and succeeding even better than before.
