Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Chavez.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It all started when I was 18 years old and in college when I began to work in the retail world. I was hired by Juicy Couture, a world-renowned clothing and handbag designer company. There I discovered the advantages of meeting people and connecting with them on a personal level. Customer service has always been my strong point. I moved up the management latter pretty quickly. I did this through my customer service skills and sales achievements. I was given the Silver J Club award while working there. The Silver J Club Achievement was given to me due to the total sales within my district, I sold a quarter of a million dollars for my store in one year. Juicy Couture sparked my passion for the business world! I had confidence that one day I would find something that I loved and would start a business of my own. A few years later I discovered Microblading, it definitely appealed to me. I worked to get my certification and have been doing this for close to two years now. I can guarantee that I have found something that I love and inspires me every day.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. There has been ups and downs. When difficult situations were in my path I did the best, I could to work through it. I never look at those situations negatively because they all taught me something different. Working with semi-permanent makeup has definitely taught me to be patient because in the end all skin types are different and they all heal within different times. Microblading is a process there are several stages involved within the healing process, at first the brows look phenomenal, then they go into a 7-10 day healing process. The skin will scab and pigment will begin to come off in small pieces. Once the scabbing process is over, the results underneath is not as full and look a bit patchy. The skin at this point needs time to darken, there is a two week wait for the color to come back. A one month touch up is also necessary to fill any areas where it may have faded within the healing process. Overall in this business patience is key.
Please tell us about Beauty Pick.
At Beauty Pick we provide eyebrow microblading services. This is the hottest new brow trend in which we insert pigment with a very small blade. We create hair like strokes to achieve a natural eyebrow appearance. At the moment, our only focus is microblading. Beauty Pick Is proud to be the leading microblading salon in the Mansfield area. We are proud of providing services that enhance one’s natural beauty. Our goal is to make sure that every client walks out feeling more confident about themselves than when they walked in. I think what sets us apart from others is our attention to detail. We listen to our clients concerns and needs to achieve the result that they always dreamed of.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
When I was around 8 years old, I used to go around my apartment complex and collected flowers to make perfume. Then I would bottle them and sell them to my neighbors. Most of them would buy from me to support my creativity. I guess I was always a little entrepreneur.
