Today we’d like to introduce you to Solomon Mitchell.
Solomon, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Fashion has always played an important role in my life. Since a very young kid, I was always fascinated with making fashion statements and developing new trends in this industry, The love that I had for various styles and apparel eventually led me to contributing to the fashion industry with the production of iNSPIRE Clothing.
iNSPIRE Clothing was created to bring a sense of inspiration through fashion. Growing up, many of my peers believed my general view and sense of fashion inspired them to become more versatile with the way they dressed. Realizing this enabled me to develop iNSPIRE Clothing. I believe that fashion should bring joy, comfort, and an expression of the way you feel. It aims to encourage individuals to reach their full potential in every endeavor.
Without the intense push of my peers and most importantly the support of my family, I wouldn’t be able to achieve the great things I’ve amounted to.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to developing iNSPIRE Clothing was definitely a difficult process. There were many questions lingering in my mind such as; how will I receive the funds necessary, how much to produce, what exactly I am producing, how this business can benefit my community, etc.
Starting any business takes a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication. Without the help and guidance of Stephen Udenenwu (creator/founder of AZUPA.A.KI), I would have made numerous of mistakes.
I emphasize that it all starts with an idea and commitment. Allowing these two keys to business to work together will definitely enable you to reap the full benefits of your labor.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about iNSPIRE Clothing – what should we know?
iNSPIRE Clothing is a brand that developed from the mindset to always reach your full potential in your aspirations. We focus and stand on our three principles; iNSPIRE, Motivate, Elevate. It’s important to me to utilize the sense of fashion from within. Through this, iNSPIRE Clothing is able to give back to the community; with greater emphasis of people who struggle with mental illnesses.
Along with iNSPIRE Clothing, I also specialize in styling; as this is my ultimate dream. Being able to create unique looks while still maintaining my signature has allowed me to remain competitive in a constantly changing industry.
I’m most proud of iNSPIRE Clothing’s commitment to reach back into the communities to show the youth that they can achieve great things too. I started this business immediately out of high school. Knowing this gives them that extra inspiration to realize that if I did it, they can also.
I believe that your inner well-being is just as important as your physical appearance, which brings us to why I’m an advocate of spreading the awareness of Mental Health. This, I believe, separates iNSPIRE Clothing from others because with our “Break the Stigma” collection, all proceeds will be donated to a Mental Health Awareness charity. This will soon expand to a non-profit that assist medical expenses for those affected with mental disorders.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Leadership, Commitment, and Creativeness are components that are vital to my successes. Without either of these, I wouldn’t be the “Solomon” who I am today, and my business wouldn’t have much elevation. Having the qualities allowed brand expansion and made my vision visible for others to connect with.
