An Inspired Chat with Adam Lowes of Dallas

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Adam Lowes. Check out our conversation below.

Adam, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Music. I recently sat in a NYC listening bar for 6 hours, completely lost track of time and felt rejuvenated for weeks.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Adam Lowes, Founder and CEO of LDU Coffee Dallas. We pride ourselves on being the most consistent premium grab and go coffee business out there. We value service and product in equal measure. We grow our business and our team organically, every leader in the business started as an hourly employee. Currently we are about to launch a hyper affordable primary care plan for hourly workers with our friends at Catalyst Health, something we have been working on for quite some time. We want the hourly workforce to have less insecurity when it comes to hourly wages, health and workplace culture.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
As someone who has built multiple small businesses from the ground up alongside my brother, there is a scrappy/do it yourself work ethic that I have finally learned holds others back. I am fortunate to have built a great team that I both love and trust, and it is time to let go of the “do it all” small business brain and empower my team to take joy in growing their responsibilities.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
I love the simplicity of “Pain plus Reflection equals Progress”. I think suffering and challenges are a gift, without them there would be no character. I would hate to live in a world where everything was easy.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
The need for genuine human interaction supersedes anything the digital world can give us. At LDU Coffee, we build this in to our operations in every way possible.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Absolutely. The life of an entrepreneur is a lonely path regardless! I believe you need enough self motivation to drive you towards your mission, that feels satisfying regardless of economic outcome or external validation.
