Alexis Mollé shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Alexis, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
In March we welcomed our sweet baby girl into the world she is our pride and joy and I am loving having so much time with her!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I am Alexis and I am the owner of The Pink Peony Florist. We are a wedding and special event florist located in Corinth, Texas. We are focused on providing exceptional service and creating florals that bring your Pinterest wishes to life! We are a small family owned company and work very closely with our brides. Creating a personalized experience that is simple, fun, and exciting is something that is super important to us!
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My husband is the one who really pushed me to create my business and follow my dream of becoming a florist. I was in a job that did not bring me joy and he pushed me to follow this dream and supports me through it all! He calls himself my free employee and even helps create the designs sometimes. I wouldn’t be where I am without him.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Of course! Business is hard and starting a business from scratch with no previous business experience is even harder! There are still times I have to take two steps back and figure out a new way of doing things. It’s a constant learning experience and it takes time to perfect it. Trust me, I am not there yet!
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes! I try to be my most authentic self no matter the situation. I learned a long time ago that everyone needs a little bit of kindness in their life and I strive to be that to each person I see. A new goal I have given myself this year is calling people by their name. If you are wearing a name tag, or if I introduce myself and get your name I try my best to remember it and intentionally use it. I enjoy meeting people and connecting and even if it is just for a brief moment in time, you can make a lasting impression and kindness is free.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Worrying about failing and stressing about….anything and everything! I would enjoy the big and small moments and focus on what is most important which is my family! These are the days we will miss and we don’t need to get so caught up in the day to day that we let these precious years slip by!
