I’d say I’m walking a path, but one I create as I go. I’ve always been drawn to blending structure with creativity, whether it’s designing a new collection for Ivy Reina or building a vision for my life. Each step feels intentional, but I leave room for curiosity, exploration, and the unexpected sparks of inspiration that often lead to my most magical ideas. For me, it’s about designing the path while still allowing it to surprise me—and maybe even take me somewhere I didn’t expect but was always meant to be.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Ashley Hernandez, the founder and creative force behind Ivy Reina, a boutique fashion and lifestyle brand that celebrates bold, glamorous, and unapologetically unique style. At Ivy Reina, we create everything from handmade beaded tops and jewelry to curated fashion collections that blend celestial, mermaid, and high‑glam aesthetics, pieces that make people feel empowered and seen.
What makes Ivy Reina special is that it’s not just about clothing or accessories, it’s about telling a story and creating an experience. Each piece is designed to inspire confidence, self-expression, and a little magic in everyday life. Right now, I’m expanding the brand online and exploring opportunities to bring Ivy Reina into a physical boutique experience, where customers can immerse themselves in the world we’ve built and discover pieces that feel truly personal.
I love blending creativity with entrepreneurship, and I’m always looking for ways to push boundaries, whether that’s through bold design, thoughtful storytelling, or building a community of people who embrace their individuality.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
I’ve had the same two best friends since middle school, and they’ve always seen me clearly, long before I fully believed in myself. They recognized my creativity, my drive, and the spark of an idea I couldn’t always articulate. Even when I doubted my own vision, they encouraged me to take risks, trust my instincts, and pursue my passions. Their unwavering belief has been a guiding light in my journey with Ivy Reina, reminding me that sometimes the people who see you best are the ones who’ve been by your side through it all.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
LOL, absolutely! I’ve almost given up several times. Building Ivy Reina hasn’t been a straight path, and I’m still learning, experimenting, and finding my place in the fashion world. There have been moments when the challenges felt bigger than the vision, but I’ve realized that growth often comes from pushing through those moments of doubt. Every setback has taught me something new, whether it’s about design, business, or trusting myself, and it’s those lessons that keep me moving forward, even when I want to throw in the towel.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m deeply committed to opening a physical storefront for Ivy Reina, no matter how long it takes. My online boutique has been an incredible journey, but I dream of creating a space where people can fully experience the brand, touch the textures, see the designs up close, and feel the magic of Ivy Reina in person. It’s not just about selling fashion; it’s about building a community, telling a story, and giving customers a place to explore creativity and self-expression. This project may take time, but every step brings me closer to turning that vision into reality.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m creating. Whether I’m designing a new piece for Ivy Reina, beading a one-of-a-kind top, or writing my novel, there’s nothing I love more than bringing ideas to life. Creation is where I lose track of time, connect with my intuition, and feel fully myself. It’s my favorite way to turn inspiration into something tangible and magical.
