An Inspired Chat with Calista Walker of Fort Worth

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Calista Walker . Check out our conversation below.

Calista , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day in my life revolves around my kids. I wake my oldest up for kindergarten and once he is dropped off I go home answer emails and switch off with my husband he heads to work and I get my other two littles ready for the day, some days we just spend at home and others they tag along while I run all my errands for the business whether it’s the Balloon store or Home Depot, they love going and exploring! School pickup time comes around fast and then a lot of nights we are headed to sports practice. Once that’s over is usually when I start getting to work answering more inquiries, designing mockups, creating props and blowing up balloons!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! My Name is Calista, I own Irene’s Balloon Wonderland. I love designing and making someone’s vision come to life to make their event magical. I love to give that WOW factor that people are looking for! I have always loved going all out for parties growing up and then having kids of my own someone might say I go overboard but it has now grown into this business that I love and put my whole heart into to make other peoples occasions special. I think everyone deserves to have the party of their dreams and when you hire me I work closely with you to make sure I go over and beyond to help you do that! Balloons make people happy and I love that about what I do, being able to put a smile on someone’s face and just seeing it light up after an install is one of my favorite things.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My parents have taught me so much about work and what true work is and how to actually work hard. Growing up they have been such great role models I have so many memories growing up helping them and seeing how hard they truly worked definitely shaped my view of working hard.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You are doing great right where you are! Everything will work out with God’s timing.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I definitely think they would say my kids, my family and God! Everything I do- from starting this business to help our family to spending my days at home raising my kids they mean so much to me. And I always hope I can put God first through it all! I love to celebrate others and make others feel special!

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you tap dancing to work? Have you been that level of excited at any point in your career? If so, please tell us about those days.
Yes! I love all orders but I truly love when I get one where they let my creative side truly shine and I get to try something new and just create something that is so beautiful! Just recently I did a Love In Bloom install that I got to work more with florals mixed in with the balloon install and it turned out so gorgeous!
