An Inspired Chat with Cris Myron Brenham of The GROVE! lol

Cris Myron Brenham shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Cris Myron, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Who are you learning from right now?
Me. I’m learning from my own mistakes. I’m learning to live life. I’m learning to enjoy self-care. I’m learning trust, by trusting and believing in myself. I’m learning love, by watching how I love others. I’m learning everyday that it’s okay to evolve, and be in transition. I’m figuring out the beauty of LIFE!… the beauty of MY LIFE. And it’s all a LESSON. So, I’m learning from me. With God as my leading Professor, I’m forever the student!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Of course! I’m Cris Myron Brenham. A native of Dallas, Texas. Keyboardist, Music Producer, Composer, Arranger. A lover of all genres of music. I love it so much, I earned a degree in Music. lol Outside of the music, I am well-traveled, consider myself a foodie, a cook (not a chef… there is a difference. lol), and a lover of fragrances! Those things and music make up the life of Cris. I’m God-fearing. I consult God in everything. No one’s opinion out weighs his. In all things, God has the final say! Here in the last 3 years, I’ve been working on my Music Production Label (Rhose Records). I have some great clients coming out with great music. Be on the look out for them.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Distrust for me. If I can’t trust you, it’s wraps. Especially if we are collaborating… and you break the trust, DONE!

Accountability, and telling the truth with positive communication. Let’s talk it thru, but only if you are gonna be truthful! I always pride myself in being truthful and forward. If we are going to restore our bond, let’s be accountable, communicate, and tell the truth!

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
“YOU got this, Cris”

So many fears were planted when I was younger that I’m just now beginning to chop at the roots, and command them to never return. I was told in High School by one of my teachers to think about another career other than music. Do you understand what that did to the 16-17 year old me? A kid passionate about music… now crushed by someone I was guided by. That kid needed to hear, “You got this, Cris” .. but I was determined to do the opposite of her suggestion. 23 years later, here I am making great music.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Of course! “You meet me once” … as Ananias Montague says. If you are one I do life with, you know I remain the same! I’m integral, character is A-1, and my reputation is in tact. From the stage to the studio, from the studio to the house, I’m Cris!

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
When my family and friends are enjoying life, I’m making music, and money, I’m living life to the highest degree, enjoying nature, traveling, experiencing exotic foods, experiencing new fragrances, knowing God is with me, and pleased with me!
