We recently had the chance to connect with DAMARIS GROGAN and have shared our conversation below.
DAMARIS, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Without fail, the first 90 minutes of my day consist of a triple shot of Nespresso and quiet time. It’s my sacred little ritual before my house wakes up, Jesus and caffeine, in that order.
My faith is the foundation of all that I do. It grounds me, guides my decisions, and reminds me daily to lead with integrity, purpose, and heart. Let’s be real — it’s also probably the only reason I haven’t completely lost my mind in this business.
faith for my soul, caffeine for everything else!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Absolutely! I’m Damaris Grogan, founder and owner of Grogan Management LLC., a full-service talent agency based in Texas. I’ve been part of the fashion and entertainment industry since 2005, and I still wake up every day feeling grateful to do what I love in an industry that’s always inspired me.
Before starting my own agency, I spent years working at several major national agencies, learning the ropes and wearing just about every hat — from scouting and developing fresh faces to managing talent across runway, print, commercials, and live performance. Along the way, I had the chance to build some amazing relationships with casting directors, producers, stylists, and other creatives who help make this industry what it is.
When I launched Grogan Management, my goal was simple: to create something different — an agency that not only represents a diverse range of talent, but truly invests in their growth and connects them to real opportunities. Whether it’s models, actors, creatives, or specialty performers, we’re all about bridging the gap between local talent and major industry opportunities throughout the nation. I’m incredibly proud of the relationships we’ve built and the work we do to support and elevate our talent every step of the way. Watching our agency grow and talent succeed has been the most rewarding part of it all.
On a personal note, I’m a proud New Yorker, but Dallas, Texas is home. I’ve been married to the love of my life for 20 years, and when I’m not working, I’m enjoying a quiet, intentionally private life with our little family.

Before launching Grogan Management, I spent years at a variety of major national agencies where I wore many hats — from scouting and new face development to managing runway, print, broadcast, and live performance talent. I was fortunate to play a key role in growing those agencies’ visibility while also building strong relationships with casting directors, producers, stylists, and other key players behind the scenes.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
Youthful insanity — that part of me has definitely served its purpose.
Starting in this industry at 17 gave me a front-row seat to the chaos and excitement of it all: all-night events, sleepless schedules, nonstop travel, and more than a few questionable decisions. It was fast, wild, formative, and I lived it out fully, right on time. I’m especially grateful that I got to experience that season with my husband by my side. We’ve grown through every chapter together, and that kind of alignment — spiritually and emotionally — is something I don’t take for granted.
That version of me taught me resilience, gave me unforgettable memories, and shaped the woman I am today. But I’ve released her and in her place, I’ve embraced a more grounded, intentional version of myself.
Now, I’m a business owner and a mom to a son in college & two toddlers, so I’m deep in my grown-up era and I love it here. I’ve always had an old soul, so this phase feels less like a shift and more like a homecoming. I truly feel like I’m now living out my purpose in my work, in motherhood, in marriage, and most importantly, in alignment with who I was always meant to be.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Personally, I wouldn’t say I’ve suffered a day in my life — especially when I look at the unimaginable pain others endure in this world. I would never want to minimize or disrespect anyone’s experience by comparing mine to true suffering.
That said, I have faced real struggles and those struggles have been meaningful. They’ve refined me, stretched me, and most importantly, they’ve kept me humble. Every challenge I’ve walked through has brought me closer to God, deepened my faith, and reminded me of what really matters.
Success can be loud, fast, and fleeting. But struggle? Struggle has a way of slowing you down and pointing you back to your foundation.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
“Less is more” and “real G’s move in silence.”
That belief feels almost rebellious in the entertainment and fashion space, where visibility often feels like currency. But I’ve learned that the real power comes from what you don’t broadcast. Not every win needs to be posted. Not every move needs an audience. In this industry, it’s easy to get caught up in the hype, the flash, the “look at me” culture — but I’ve seen how much stronger and more lasting your impact can be when you move with purpose, and a little mystery. Sometimes, the most successful people are the ones making the biggest moves in complete silence. Quiet confidence. Intentional moves. No need for the noise. That’s my lane.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
100% what I was born to do
