We recently had the chance to connect with Dashea Farber-Socolof and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Dashea, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Integrity, because without it intelligence and energy can get misused. Energy is what drives me, and I love people who bring it to the table—but if it isn’t grounded in integrity, it doesn’t mean much. Intelligence is valuable, but to me it’s integrity that shows a person’s true character, and that’s what I trust the most.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Tanique isn’t just about giving someone a tan—it’s about creating a glow that looks natural, feels good, and lasts. What makes Tanique unique is the level of care and knowledge that goes into every session. I focus heavily on client prep and post-care, because the experience doesn’t start and end with the spray—it’s about setting the skin up to hold the tan beautifully. I’ve researched the science behind the tanning solution and how it reacts with different skin pH levels, which allows me to customize each tan for flawless, natural-looking results. My goal is simple: for every client to leave feeling confident, radiant, and cared for from start to finish
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Bonds break when trust is lost—whether in life or in business. Dishonesty, neglect, or not honoring the energy of the connection can weaken it. What restores bonds is integrity, care, and showing up consistently. That’s how I live personally, and it’s the heart of Tanique, too. With my clients, I focus on educating them, guiding them through prep and post-care, and holding space where they feel seen and valued. Integrity and energy are what rebuild trust—and when they’re restored, the connection becomes even stronger than before.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me resilience, empathy, and depth—things success alone could never give me. It showed me how to stand back up, how to find light in dark places, and how to see and care for people on a soul level. Success feels amazing, but it doesn’t shape you the way suffering does. The struggles are what gave me strength, clarity, and the drive to create something meaningful—like Tanique—that helps others feel seen, cared for, and confident in their own skin
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire people who live with integrity and heart—those who stay kind, honest, and grounded no matter what life throws at them. It’s not titles, money, or power that impress me—it’s character. I admire the people who keep showing up with authenticity, loyalty, and light, even when it would be easier not to.”
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say I lived with integrity, passion, and love—that I made them feel seen, cared for, and more confident in who they are. I want to be remembered as someone who brought light and energy into every space, who stood for honesty and loyalty, and who created something beautiful through Tanique that went beyond tanning. My story, I hope, is that I left people glowing on the outside but also reminded them of their own glow on the inside.”
