An Inspired Chat with Dominique Moreland of Grand Prairie

We recently had the chance to connect with Dominique Moreland and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Dominique, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
As becoming more of a frequent travel DJ, the main thing I surely enjoy now is my REST!!!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Dominique Moreland known as DJ Suavé from Dallas, TX. I have been a DJ for about 9 years & a travel DJ for about 6-7 years. I find joy in music, in all types of genres for many events but most of my scene comes from the skate culture.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Lack of communication and understanding.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Absolutely! As you grow with more experience & exposure, there is so much negative turmoil that will try to disrupt your peace/purpose. At the end of it all no one will truly understand the sacrifices you make to be as great behind your craft day by day while trying to strive for your dreams.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
No matter the place, city/state or country the plan is to always heal through music. Almost a decade into my craft and there will always be room to learn & a everlasting dream just doesn’t happen overnight, but I feel close!

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
Even though I have built myself a platform. I really feel most at peace by being home or just to myself, it’s very quiet that way.
