An Inspired Chat with Liar Liar of Frisco

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Liar Liar. Check out our conversation below.

Liar Liar, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
We’ve had our fair share of amazing proud moments as a band since forming in 2023. One milestone was traveling to California to play the world-famous Whisky a Go Go in 2024. Another moment was winning the Wildflower Music & Arts Festival Battle of the Bands this past May. These milestones mean a lot to us and sets us apart from many young bands just starting out. We are especially grateful to Rockstars of Tomorrow Frisco for helping make these moments possible, if it weren’t for them, we wouldn’t be where we are today.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
We are Liar Liar, an alternative rock band based in Frisco, Texas. We’ve been performing across the Dallas-Frisco metroplex, bringing in a mix of both originals and covers to our shows. What makes us unique is the way we combine emotional intensity, dynamic sound, and raw lyrical storytelling, focusing on authenticity. We always want to be our true selves on stage, because that’s where we always feel most at home in. Our shows are a space where everyone is welcome and accepted. Currently, we are working on our debut EP featuring 5 of our originals, which we hope to release next year.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
Working in a band is not easy. We’ve had to learn how to collaborate as a whole, bring energy to the stage, market our band, and create original music. The person who taught us most about the industry is Dallas-based solo artist Chloe Clemente. When we started Liar Liar through Rockstars of Tomorrow, Chloe became our band coach and mentor. She guided us through everything and how to grow as a band, even through the good and the bad. Because of her, we’ve been able to accomplish so music and go farther than we ever thought.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There have always been our fair share of moments when we’ve faced challenges that made us want to give up. From disagreements over our originals to the inevitable band drama, it hasn’t all been easy. Every time we have hit a low point, the music and bond is what keeps us going and getting through the struggles. Playing live shows, connecting with the crowd, and remembering why we started Liar Liar in the first place is what brings us back together. No matter what, our struggles are what makes us stronger as a band.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies in the music industry is the belief that musicians have to change their sound to fit in to what’s popular and marketable. There will always be pressure from outside voices to tell you how to run your brand or your music. At the end of the day, authenticity is what will connect with the audience the most. People want to relate to the music, they want to have a place where they can feel they fit in. If bands and artists make music that is generic to “sell” better, that is not what’s real. For us, staying true to our brand and sound is what makes the music real, and it’s what builds a lasting connecting with the audience.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
We hope to inspire people to keep making music, to form bands, and to never hold back on themselves. We want people to be their most authentic selves.. Our story should be one of resilience. We pushed through doubt, stayed true to ourselves, and created something we are all passionate about. More than anything, we want to be remembered for showing that music is about honesty, passion, and connection. If our journey gives even one person the courage to pick up an instrument, write a song, or believe in their own voice, then our story will have been worth telling.
