We’re looking forward to introducing you to Mike Feez. Check out our conversation below.
Mike, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
A Legacy for My Kids: A Foundation for Success
I want to leave my children a legacy that goes beyond money or material things—a blueprint for success in life. I want them to understand that good things come to those who pray, stay grounded in faith, and take consistent action toward their goals. Life won’t always be easy, but progress comes from movement, not waiting.
Most importantly, I want them to know: never take “no” for an answer when chasing your dreams. If one door closes, knock on another. If none open, build your own. Stay humble, stay hungry, and always keep going.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Micheal Foster, but most people know me as Mike Feez. I’m a filmmaker, content creator, and the founder of MikefeezTV, a creative media brand based in Dallas, Texas. Through video production, storytelling, and visual creativity, I help bring real stories to life whether it’s through short films, documentaries, or branded content.
What makes my brand unique is the authenticity I bring to every project. I come from a background where I had to build from the ground up, so I understand the hustle, the faith, and the passion it takes to turn an idea into something powerful. MikefeezTV is more than just visuals it’s a movement to inspire, create, and connect.
Right now, I’m working on a short film titled P.O.O.R (Passing Over Opportunities Repeatedly) and a mini-documentary called The Barbershop Experience: Beyond the Cut, both of which highlight real-life stories and the culture of everyday people. I’m also continuing to build my network in the film industry while helping others bring their vision to the screen.
My journey is still unfolding, and I’m excited to show the world what consistency, creativity, and belief can really do.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was a creative kid with a wild imagination always curious, always dreaming. I was the one making beats in my head, drawing on anything I could find, and seeing stories in everyday life. I didn’t know what a “career” was, but I knew I loved expressing myself through music, art, or just making people feel something.
Back then, I wasn’t chasing status or approval I was chasing the feeling of creating something real. Before the pressure, the titles, and the expectations, I was simply a storyteller at heart. And honestly, I’m still that same person I’ve just learned how to turn those dreams into something tangible.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, definitely. I spent 30 months in two different schools—15 months each juggling work, fatherhood, and trying to stay focused on both my personal projects and school assignments. It was tough. There were plenty of nights I wanted to quit. I’d sit and ask myself, “Why am I even doing this? Is this media path really for me?”
But deep down, something kept pushing me. Maybe it was the passion, maybe it was the vision, or maybe it was just knowing my kids were watching me. Being a father gave me another level of purpose. And looking back now, I’m glad I stayed the course. Every late night, every sacrifice it’s all part of the story I’m building.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies in the media and film industry is that you need a huge budget, big-name connections, or a fancy degree to make it. The truth is, creativity, consistency, and hustle go way further than people realize. Another lie is that you have to follow a certain formula to succeed but real impact often comes from breaking those rules and telling stories that actually matter.
There’s also this idea that if you’re not constantly going viral or trending, you’re not doing enough. But I’ve learned that slow growth, real engagement, and authentic storytelling will outlast quick hype every time. The industry sells the dream but doesn’t always talk about the grind behind it and that’s where the real power is.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I think people might misunderstand how much work went on behind the scenes. They might see the finished product, the highlights, the wins but not realize the sacrifices, the sleepless nights, the setbacks I had to push through just to keep going.
They might think it came easy, or that I always had it figured out. But truthfully, my legacy is built on faith, failures, and learning as I go. It’s not just about talent it’s about resilience. I didn’t just want to make dope content—I wanted to build something that would outlive me and inspire others to keep going, even when it’s hard.
And most of all, I hope people don’t forget: I did this while being a present father, a dreamer, and someone who believed that purpose matters more than popularity.
