We’re looking forward to introducing you to Shantaé Morgan. Check out our conversation below.
Shantaé , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I’m definitely walking a path – but the destination isn’t predefined. I’m creating a path of my own choosing, one that brings me and others joy and the celebration of being you! I’m excited about all the directions that this path and journey will take me.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Shantaé Morgan, and I’m the founder and creative director of Diamondfire Events, a Dallas-based entertainment company specializing in immersive, drag-centered experiences that blend artistry, hospitality, and community impact.
Under the Diamondfire brand, we produce experiences such as the Drag Wagon—Dallas’s drag-themed party bus—and the Sisters in Action Charity Brunch series, which has raised substantial funds for local nonprofit organizations. We also created Leather & Lashes, a high-energy brunch series that celebrates bold self-expression and pushes the boundaries of traditional drag entertainment through themed performances, and theatrical storytelling. In addtion we offer emceeing & professional hosting, wedding officiating (LGBTQ+ inclusive & vow customization), DJ services, live vocal performances, and custom bachelor/bachelorette parties.
What sets Diamondfire apart is our commitment to pairing high-caliber production and professionalism with authenticity and purpose. Each event we create is designed to leave an impression—one that celebrates individuality, inclusivity, and the vibrant artistry of the drag community.
As both a performer and an entrepreneur, my vision has always been to elevate the way audiences experience drag not just as entertainment, but as an art form and a force for connection. Diamondfire Events continues to grow through innovative partnerships and new concepts that celebrate creativity, diversity, and community pride—proving that when passion and purpose meet, the result truly shines.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
What breaks the bonds between people, more often than not, is fear—fear of difference, fear of vulnerability, fear of losing control. When we stop seeing each other as full human beings and start seeing each other as categories or opinions, that’s when connection fractures. I think we see that play out every day in society, whether it’s in politics, identity, or even within our own communities.
What restores those bonds, though, is shared experience. It’s joy. It’s laughter. It’s the simple act of being seen and celebrated exactly as you are. That’s why I do what I do. Through Diamondfire Events and my performances as Shantaé, I create spaces where people can come together—sometimes through glamour, sometimes through humor—but always through authenticity.
Drag, at its core, is about transformation and truth. When someone sits in a room and laughs, or cheers, or feels inspired by what they see on stage, that’s connection being rebuilt in real time. We heal through joy and through the courage to show up—sparkles, flaws, and all.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that’s held me back the most has been the fear of being too much—and right beside it, the fear of failing because of it. For a long time, I worried that if I dreamed too big, spoke too boldly, or showed up too authentically, I’d fall short in the eyes of others—or worse, that people wouldn’t take me seriously.
In both entertainment and entrepreneurship, that fear can be paralyzing. You start editing yourself before you even begin. I spent years trying to fit into spaces that weren’t built for me, toning down my creativity to make other people comfortable. But what I’ve learned is that failure isn’t the opposite of success—it’s a necessary part of it. Every risk, every misstep, every “no” taught me how to refine my vision and strengthen my voice.
When I founded Diamondfire Events, it was born out of that realization: that the very things I once feared—being too much, being different, even failing—were the keys to my freedom. I built a company that celebrates boldness, authenticity, and transformation, because that’s what I had to learn to embrace in myself first.
Now, when fear shows up, I take it as a sign that I’m on the edge of something meaningful. And instead of stepping back, I lean in—rhinestones, risk, and all.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I would say that my closet friends would tell you that THEY are what matters most to me. My buisness was born out of a need to help others – whether that was to help find their voice, bring a little joy and humor to a celebration, or to remind them they are special beings who exist for a purpose. My thought is that if I can even just make one small ripple, the ripple will continue and expand.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace in the outdoors. Nature replenishes me, and I spend a lot of time my own when I can, walking a trail, traveling to places where I can be surrounded by mostly nature, or on the water. I love the calmness and stillness that exists when you are on your own and it’s just you and nature. The vastness of the wilderness helps to ground me, gives me space to think through complex problems and thoughts or sometimes just simply be.
