Good morning Antoyia, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day are so essential to setting the tone for the day. I can always tell when I try to rush their the process and my day feels off. I make time to begin my day with gratitude, a prayer of thanksgiving for seeing another day. From there, I speak over myself by reading and declaring affirmations and words of positivity.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m the headwrap-wearing, faith-filled, appointed and anointed, fierce and favored, impactful and inspired, skincare maven, makeup slaying, money-making Antoyia Fortune. Also known Your Neighborhood Beauty Bawse – a proud Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant serving my customers from my neighborhood to their neighborhood. My mission is simple: empowering beauty and elevating confidence. Through skincare education, makeup application and empowering others, I help women look and feel fabulous! I help people embrace their natural beauty while building their confidence to walk in any room knowing they belong there!
What makes my brand unique is that my business is more than just products; we are changing lives. I am helping people slay with a purpose and walk bolding in their fabulousness! Whether I’m hosting beauty sessions or in the community offering beauty tips, I walk boldly in my God-given light.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
That’s deep…before the world had an opinion about me, I was and am who God says I am. I’ve always been a creative and a dreamer, very expressive, constantly getting in trouble for talking too much. With this, I was told I was too much so I started shrinking myself to try to make other people comfortable. I was willing to sacrifice myself.
Now, I walk in rooms and you feel my energy, not because I want to make you uncomfortable, but because I hope I am giving the encouragement for you to do the same, to walk in your fullness.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
One kind thing to my younger self…you have ALWAYS been worth it!
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say my legacy matters the most to me, my mark on the world. My prayer is that I would leave behind a trail of empowered people who not only feel and look fabulous, but also believe in their worth and are operating in their passions.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
Without my name, role and possessions, I will always remain a woman of great faith, light, tenacity and resilience. I was born to empower and uplift others, walking fully in my light, encouraging others to do the same! My light, my faith, my gift for encouragement, my resilience, my essence, my joy, and presence will remain. These are things that cannot be taken away, it’s who I am.
