Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabel Rojas.
Isabel, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I started blogging with no intention of being an “influencer” or “Fashion Guru” I really started it because cheesy enough I genuinely love putting different pieces together and finding great deals! I remember being a little girl and most girls my age wanted dolls and toys and I was always that weird child that liked being gifted dresses and clothes I can’t count the times I played dress up with my mom and sister! haha.
Too make the story short, I knew I wanted to create a space where I could express my sense of style, share some good deals, and also share snip bits of my everyday life! I’ve learned that people would rather hear what you have to say about a place or product and give your honest opinion over any commercial or review online…and to me that’s huge I take full responsibility to be of value to my followers and always want to make sure I stay authentic not only to my audience but with myself!.
I know there’s a lot of girls out there that are wanting to blog but are scared or intimidated by how saturated the market is but I always tell them to do it anyway because everyone has a different story and as long as you are true to yourself you deserve the opportunity to be creative just like everyone else!
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
My art is my style and my “art” is well myself! I love that I get to use a little corner of the web and express my ideas, my values, my family, my faith and my life! Of course, my art takes shape in many forms but all in all my blog is my art it allows me to share what is going on my life and allows me to connect with the everyday woman …whether she is a mom, a sister, a friend, a wife a college girl I just hope that whoever reads my blog post leaves feeling inspired and leaves feeling like there IS someone out there who can relate to her and she’s not alone with whatever she may be facing in life! I know a big part of being a fashion blogger is to connect through fashion but it’s always nice to be able to use your platform to inspire and share your heart with others life can get messy and hard so it’s nice to know you have a community you can lean on and I hope to be that to girls or whoever reads my blog!
Artists rarely, if ever pursue art for the money. Nonetheless, we all have bills and responsibilities and many aspiring artists are discouraged from pursuing art due to financial reasons. Any advice or thoughts you’d like to share with prospective artists?
Most people have the misconceptions that bloggers are all rich or that we are all in debt because of how much clothes we buy but that’s NOT the case at all! Most bloggers are probably on a budget if not a tighter budget than most people! It’s all about how you manage your finances! Also, not every blogger is the same so yes you might have bloggers that wear more high-end merchandise but overall most bloggers are very budget friendly! With any business I have learned that in order to grow you must invest…invest time, money, resources and that is no different for bloggers.
We must invest if we want our business to thrive weather that is purchasing inventory aka clothes, shoes, or paying to have our website created such as paying for a host. A lot of people don’t know the behind the scenes and how much time is spent working on our blogs am I complaining? Absolutely not! I do however feel it’s necessary to share this information because like I said a lot of people have misconceptions. Trust me most bloggers share their art because they LOVE too not because it makes them money. that in itself is just a plus!
