Today we’d like to introduce you to Lady Wisdom.
Lady Wisdom started when Chase (lead vocals/guitar) put together a demo tape of a few songs in 2013. Bryan (drums/backing vocals) after years got his hands on the demos and we decided to pursue the project adding Xavier on bass. The three of us having worked together in a short-lived metal band from high school had immediate chemistry and the original songs from the demos started coming to life.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
We make loud, grungy, punk rock with tons of energy, grooves, and catchy hooks. Most of our songs were written by Chase and the rest was later filled in by the bands rhythm section, Bryan and Xavier. We each have our own personal drives, but as a whole we strive to relate to people the same way our favorite artists did for us. We want to give back that mental rehabilitation countless others have given us through their music. We also aim to bring energy back to the live music scene by encouraging the audience to have some fun and get crazy.
Artists rarely, if ever pursue art for the money. Nonetheless, we all have bills and responsibilities and many aspiring artists are discouraged from pursuing art due to financial reasons. Any advice or thoughts you’d like to share with prospective artists?
Unfortunately, the financial challenges come with the territory. There isn’t much way around it other than putting those concerns aside when you enter the creative head space. Stress cripple’s creativity and you never want to forget why you started this to begin with.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
The best way to find our music is through most major digital distributors such as Spotify, iTunes, Soundcloud, etc. Supporting our music is as simple as not only coming to our shows, but by supporting other local acts in the area. The Dallas music scene can’t stay alive without its audience.
